Apparantly Inter plan to use Adriano to cut Messi's asking price of £60 M by half...

of course, these are just rumours fueled by Moratti's recent declaration that Messi is his favourite player...

Why would we exchange one of the hottest prospects in football for an inconsistent prima-dona??

and he would cost too much. Messi at the moment would be perhaps the most expensive player to buy in the world.

Pretty much, and Adriano is receiving an incredible fall from grace at present ok

    In whose dreams??

Buffon is an all time great as a GK, and leagues ahead of his contempories..

People sometimes forget how long Buffon has been on the top... and how many great goalkeepers (Perruzzi, Pagluica, Toldo, etc) have paled in comparison....

If Buffon does win the ballon d'or as is rumoured, he will become the second goalkeeper in HISTORY to win this honour... so far, only the great Lev Yashin has managed this once... perhaps since this is happening in our PRESENT, we are not able to appreciate how legendary Buffon is becoming... 20 years from now, people will speak of Buffon and Yashin in the same breadth, of that I have no doubt.

Juventus offer 8m euros & Zalayeta for Villa

I don't know what's more ludicrous - Juve's offer for Villa or Inter's offer for Messi. At least his injury will scare them off now!

Other rumours of players possibly going to Barca: Amelia, Luque, Larsson, and the Nigerian kid playing at Lyn, Edu I think is his nickname.

Injuries or even unstable heart conditions never scared Inter (Remember Ronaldo, Fadiga, Kanu, etc)...

Inter's offer isn't that bad, specially if Adriano gets back to his old form and starts playin like we all know he can... Adriano has achieved much more than Messi, he is more like what Tevez is for Argentina...

I wouldn't mind if Inter swap Adriano for Toni either Wink

    Adriano:

2001 FIFA youth world cup - silver boot winner

Best player & Top scorer in Copa

Best player & Top scorer in Confed cup

25 international goals in 36 games for Brazil

25 goals in 46 games for Inter (inspite of his terrible form)

23 goals in 37 games for Parma

Not bad for a 24 year old.... thats what I meant, his achievements are more close to what tevez has done, messi still has to do this for a coupla seasons to become as accomplished...

Anyways, Moratti has rubbished the Messi rumours.... infact, I kinda liked what he said in the interview:

There are reports of Inter's big interest in Messi. Is it a dream, or is there any truth in it?
"You ask me about Messi and I reply to you that he plays well, but this doesn't mean anything. If you ask me about a good actor I'll say he acts well, but it doesn't mean I'll go and buy him for Inter."

Moratti, the gentleman that he is, probably did not intend any pun... imagine if Mourinho had said this before the barca game......................... lol

Valencia want Lippi and Buffon Wednesday 15 November, 2006

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Valencia are hoping to lure Marcello Lippi and Gianluigi Buffon to Spain at the end of the season, reports suggest.

Coach Quique Flores’ team are currently sixth in La Liga, five points behind leaders Barcelona, and are already making plans for next season.

Now director general Amedeo Carboni has been quoted as saying: “Our two primary objectives should be Lippi and Buffon.”

The World Cup winning boss has not yet found a new job and had dismissed the latest reports linking him with a move to Milan, where he could replace Carlo Ancelotti at the end of the season.

Buffon, who may take over from veteran goalkeeper Santiago Canizares, chose to remain with Juventus despite their relegation to Serie B in the aftermath of the Calciopoli scandal.

However, agent Silvano Martina has admitted that he may consider a summer switch as the Golden Ball nominee is interested in an experience abroad.

Carboni also warned Inter and Juventus that star striker David Villa, a reported target, is not for sale.

“We have not received any official offer and even if this were to happen we would never consider selling Villa,” said the former Roma man.

Villa’s agent José Luis Tamargo also confirmed that his client is happy to be at Valencia and is not interested in leaving Spain.

“David is fine here and does not want to move. These rumours have been released in view of the upcoming January transfer window, but are completely without foundation,” commented the agent.

I think he'll stay, since Juve are looking like they'll walk Serie B and be back in Serie A next year without any problems. I also think Reina will stay, can't see Benitez letting him go.

Lippi to Valencia doesn't sound quite so far-fetched though.

Amauri is very good.. though there seem to be a few doubters to whether he can continue with this form. He is a big guy and can score all different types of ways. Head, right foot, left foot, volley's bicycles you got it!

I doubt he will leave though, maybe after this season, depending on how well plaermo do, a desicion will be made!

He might adapt well, Brazilains always find away of adapting! And especially with barca having so many Brazilians he could settle quite well!

Inter return for Carlos? Friday 17 November, 2006

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Real Madrid defender Roberto Carlos could return to Inter in a sensational January swap deal with Adriano, according to reports in Italy.

The 33-year-old may be made available for transfer after talks over a new contract stalled, seeing as his present one expires in 2007.

“It is not that I feel mistreated,” said the Brazilian. “But I want to reach the figures that I was offered by Fenerbahce and Chelsea.

“I consider myself young and I can play until I’m 40. I want to play for five more years,” declared the former World Cup winner.

The Corriere dello Sport newspaper is now speculating that Real may offer the player to Inter for Adriano – even if Nerazzurri chief Massimo Moratti ruled out the latter’s departure only this week.

Carlos, who has now retired from international football, left the Nerazzurri after just one season in 1996 but has often been paired with a return to the San Siro ever since.

It’s also understood that Real’s capture of 18-year-old starlet Marcelo could favour a return to Italy for the left-back.

The Brazilian has demanded a new three-year contract which Real Madrid do not seem keen on granting him.

Sissoko wanted by Juve Friday 17 November, 2006

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko is an alleged summer transfer target for Italian giants Juventus.

The Corriere dello Sport reports that the 22-year-old is high on Coach Didier Deschamps’ wish list, as the Bianconeri look to strengthen their squad once they complete an expected return to the top flight.

The young Mali international, who will be out of action for a month having injured his shoulder in the League Cup match with Birmingham, is highly rated by boss Rafa Benitez though and is unlikely to be allowed to leave.

However, rumours suggest Juventus could tempt the Anfield outfit to sell by offering David Trezeguet in a sensational swap deal.

Meanwhile, Under-21 international Raffaele Palladino seems set to leave the Old Lady as early as January.

He’s struggling to break into the Juve first team, a fact which has attracted the interest of Udinese and Roma.

The 22-year-old was already close to moving to the Friuli-based side in the summer, but the agreement for his co-ownership was not finalised.

“I thought I would play more,” said Palladino. “However, we all know that there is a lot of competition at Juve.

“Obviously a young player only wants one thing, that is to play more and more. I only hope that a new chapter will soon start for me at this club.”

Palladino, though, will start in Saturday’s match with Albinoleffe given the club’s striker crisis as Alex Del Piero, Marcelo Zalayeta and Trezeguet are all out injured.

Lyon prepare Trez bid Monday 20 November, 2006

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lyon could make a move for Juventus striker David Trezeguet in January, according to the latest reports.

The Frenchman decided to stay with the Old Lady despite their relegation to Serie B, but the player is unsure whether to remain at the club or move on to pastures new.

“We are waiting to see if Nilmar will return from his loan to Corinthians, but we may consider a move for Trezeguet in January,” said Lyon’s President Jean-Michel Aulas.

However, Trezeguet has recently stated that he has not yet decided what his future will be, although he cannot rule out a move at the end of the season.

“Seven years at Juve is a lot and also a source of pride. I’m not talking about the renewal or my future with the Juventus management, these talks are premature.

“I just hope we do not take a return to Serie A for granted, I fear that too much confidence can be counterproductive. We don’t want to stay in Serie B for another year.”

Coach Didier Deschamps agrees with the player and knows that several Bianconeri consider the end of the season an important turning point.

“We cannot block the players who decided to stay with us in the summer,” said the Coach, referring to Mauro Camoranesi, Gianluigi Buffon and Trezeguet

“I agree with Trez’s words, the players need to understand Juve’s future plans and then decide. They want the team to be competitive next year if they choose to stay.”
