NEC played its first three games against PSV (A), Groningen (H) and AZ (H). So that's two fingers to everyone who are already counting us out.
We haven't had chance to gel yet, and played two of the three title contenders and a top 4 contender. If we'd play Ajax this weekend, we'd have the full deadly quartet already. Personlally I'd prefer if we had played all three games away form home, and invited thos eteams back when we gelled properly; we always start slow.

And in all those games we showed composure, chances, creativity, and could (and perhaps should) have gotten points of all those teams.
At no time were we bullied, in fact we bullied but got hit on the break/horrible defensive error. Our finishing so far has been despicable too. Grr

    BRING IT ON! Devil

NEK Wink will do quite well this year actuelly, Been is a gppd coach and they got some good youngsters. That action from Eagles deserved a goal yesterday, but it showed that AZ aint unbeateble, and im sure that when the play a weaker team like Ajax the will get at least a point.

Yay, I'll be able to watch FC Groningen against Partizan ! Very Happy

Lets hope we'll be enriched with another Djurovski after this encounter (I've had the pleasure to see the original play : the man was a *genius*)....

"GRONINGEN - Het UEFA CUP duel tussen Partizan Belgrado en FC Groningen wordt donderdag geleid door de onbekende scheidsrechter Romans Lajkus uit Letland.

De wedstrijd in Belgrado begint donderdagavond om zeven uur en is rechtstreeks te volgen op Radio en TV Noord.

De radio-uitzending begint om half zeven en de tv-uitzending begint rond de klok van kwart voor zeven."

pfft, I'd be happy if Feyenoord can make it to the groups stage and get past it. Thinking about Feyenoords last years performance still makes me angry, you won't believe how much I've been swearing and yelling at the tv !

Same for Ajax and both Kopenhaven games (and also the entire last year campaign)...

We need *all* five clubs to make it to the groupstage and then 4 should go through.....now way will we manage that feat No

I'm already fearing for FC Groningen, Ajax and Feyenoord to make the groupstage. For some reason I expect AZ and Heerenveen to breeze through.

    @ Axeslammer !

Ajax will have a tough tie, i just hope that if they do get good result (1st leg, away from home) there will be no arrogance in the 2nd -- and the team maintains a level of self-confidence and belief..

If Ajax do bomb out and don't make the Group Stage .. i can see Ten Cate leaving at the end of the season (even if he wins the league ...)
