Well Lucho would be a welcome addition.. Let's send Ezquerro, Saviola and maybe Motta the other way..

If this Anderson kid is a Deco replacement, then that's good. I personally am not too excited about yet another Ronaldinho/Messi style player, esp. since Dos Santos looks genuine.

Re: FC Barcelona Thread 2006/2007
And all this talk of Lucho, Anderson, Abidal, etc. is well and good, but let's not forget the strength of our club is our identity and our youth team. I'd much rather promote a youth team player over any purchased player, even with a slight drop in quality, because we now have the squad to cover it and our team spirit means the sum is always greater than its parts.

People say he is a Dinho type player.
but from what i've seen i think he can play the deco role very very well. for a kid with his skills he really works hard and does a lot of tracking back when i saw him in the U-17 world cup and a few Germio Games. but i'm like you if he is intended to play the dinho role then he can stay

Dos santos
Bojan
Valienti
Jeffern
Plus with the likes of
Messi
Iniesta
and the Ole/Motta type players like
Marc
Olmo
our Idenity will Remain
we will ony need about 4/5 players to round off the squad for 2011 and onwards

i think the players they are hoping to bring in are players the La mesia aren't Producing
DMed-Lucho
Deco type player-Anderson(we did have Maride (SP) but those fuckers stole him)
Abidal is more for Now than the Future

Re: FC Barcelona Thread 2006/2007
Thanks N18wing, we're definitely back in form after that Super Cup and the slight hiccup against Celta. This is the Barca we all know, keeping possession, firm in defence, and as always, dangerous in attack.
Zambrotta still needs some time to settle, I think he's still learning when to go forward and when to stay back. Right now he's good positionally, but he'll no doubt improve with every game. Etoo continues his scoring run, the Pichichi continues where he let off last season.
Good performance overall by the team, the kind where you have to grind out a win at a tricky away ground (this was where Etoo was receiving racist chants last year). Now for a week's rest before the next Liga game, which I believe is Valencia, so it'll be a true test of our form.

We deserve some keeper mistakes after Valdes' screw-ups last year. And like the cliche goes, if you don't buy a ticket, you won't win the lottery!

Decent game tonight. Didn't play very well but we still got a decent win. Still, we have to win games without playing well like we did today. We have to improve quite a lot to reach the level of last year.

yeah finally
but they are undefeated all be it with 3 draw, but once the coach figures out how to get Calvo, jefferna and dos santos in the team and Olmo and Valiente links up (they haven't played together all season) it will all good from thier gone

I really hope so. It can't be that Castilla are in the second division and we are still rotting in the Second B. It's fucking pathetic.

Re: FC Barcelona Thread 2006/2007
I just watched a replay of the game and I must say what a performance by Marquez....our kaiser is looks back to his best...he blocked everything and that cool goal clearance was decisive as Giuly scored right after it. Rijkaard substitutions were all smart and proved crucial.
this is the 4th game i haven't been able to watch live and we have won them all some i won't be watching any more games unless we lose. i don't want to jinks us

Re: FC Barcelona Thread 2006/2007
Messiah that's torture, but if you're willing to take it for the team then I'm ok with that
Reminds me of Valdes, in the last 3 months of last season he only wore the green jersey because it was supposedly lucky for him. This year after the defeat to Sevilla he switched to black for a couple of games, but he's worn the blue kit (probably sponsor pressure since that's the main kit they're marketing and they can't have him go a whole season not wearing it), and we've done just fine, so it's good that he's over this superstition.

laporta denies Puma Agree
http://www.sport.es/default.asp?idpublicacio_PK=44&idioma=CAS&idnoticia_PK=340426&idseccio_PK=803&h=
their were reports that we have agreed a deal with puma for 20 millions euros.
i for one don't like the look of puma kits so i'm happy it was just a rumour.
laporta wants 30 million for Nike to continue form 2008 and beyond

They are currently looking for a new deal with Nike for 30M€. Why would they agree with a Puma deal for less? Nike was apparently quite pleased with the Unicef link.

Re: FC Barcelona Thread 2006/2007
Well that was nice..
We won despite suffering the usual "woohhooo we are 1-0 ahead, so now we can play"-syndrome.
Positives:
Eto'o: Excellent palyer, works sooo hard
Márquez: Seems like benching him was the correct decision and has improved massively compared to his performance against Sevilla and Celta.
Giuly: Works extremely hard, great goal and is really pushing Messi for that starting spot
Negatives:
Playtime: The players seem to loose focus, once they start scoring. We need more cynicism in front of goal from pretty much everyone except Eto'o
Messi: Is not looking very sharp and his finishing was poor. Worst Barcelona player yesterday.
Zambrotta: At the moment I think Belletti is far ahead of him in the pecking order as he isn't connecting to well with the attack and he commits too many fouls.
