everywhere else in the world apart from england( where midfielders like lampard are judged on goals), people expect more goals from the wingers than all the other midfielders. Take barca for eg. no one expect deco to score more than messi or dinho

its not so much what their real position is but where they play.

messi plays on the right of eto soo that is way more attacking then deco pull strings together.questions is does ronaldo play on the right side of the midfield or is he allowed to further up the field and play as right winger like messi plays.

Barca Play a wierd 4-3-3... It's almost as if all of the front 3 are 2nd strikers.

Well, Etoo is a lead striker, just not a target man/poacher because he too rotates around and drops deep. He's very dynamic.

And even our midfield is a bit weird...it's kind of a 1-1-1:

I know - I usually play as Barca on Pro Evo, and I always have to rejig the positions in midfield to make it broader.

Ronaldo is still a forward IMO - though if Lampard is the record holder, I suppose I'll let him off.

i think it is very good for a player to score this many goals when you are not a striker but i dont consider it be better then lampards record since i think he had to do alot more work defensive and the fact that chelsea are not really a attacking team.

Makelele and Essien/Tiago did all the defensive work. Lampard had a slave in Drogba as well feeding him goals.

lampard takes penalties aswell. he has got 2 i think in the league, but saha took 2 aswell.

He's scored 3 penalties.

chelsea set up their team specifically for flump and drogba. very rarely do you see a well worked team goal from them and they score a very minimal variety of goals

- header from drogba/terry from set piece

- rocket out of nothing from flump/drogba

-scrappy goal from drogba after the ball is launched into the box at him

the whole team is designed to give drogba and lampard a free reign on goal. lampard is one of the worst contributors to a midfield in terms of general all round play I think i have ever seen at the top level. A comparison between ronaldo and lampard is equally as disgusting as a comparison between gerrard and lampard

I only seen bits of the game yesterday. Decided to go to O'Neills with a few friends not thinking that it would be full of Welsh and Irish Rugby fans. They only had a small screen for the football. Bloody tiny thing.

well that is how you see it. but i think he does alot for the team both offensive and defensive while ronaldo has way more free role in a way more attacking team.again im not saying ronaldos record isnt good becaus i think it is great but i think more of lampards.
