Yet we still qualified for the tournament with our worst team ever. That's what you English never get, it's important to win the important matches, e.g. in tournaments. That's why you won't win shit for ages to come.

But keep on celebrating your victory nobody gives a flying shit about over here.

    @ axe

    you made a good case

we can no longer deny the obvious

    Dutch footballers rock cheers

the more in one team, the merrier, let alone THE BETTER

hey, I've got an idea; why not create a team consisting ENTIRELY of Nederlanders: 100%

God, can you imagine ???? that would be like combining a helium with a nuclear bomb to be detonated by a super-laser before being dropped by an Apache anti-tank helicopter:bom:

now imagine that super-team playing against the finest players from Germany, Brazil, Argentina or Portugal

oh wait; they DID play Portugal recently , I vaguely remember

wow, that must have been some game, heh; 100% Nederlanders, no weak Germans in sight, playing together with previously unkown flair, panache and skill levels

    poor Portuguese, heh ??? sunny

God imagine if the Flemish people decide to come back to Holland again!! Or even better whole of Belgium and Luxemburg...with 26 million people then we would truely become a big player!!

Otto, the fact alone that the huge Germany looks up against Holland says enough dont you think?

Let's put all us Germans together and make a football team.

    Erm, wait we're still crap...

Let's nationalise some Ghaneyans, Poles and Iranians and if they can say "Wir haben es nicht gewusst" we can pass them off as Germans.

Hmm, still no chance : wait we give 'm the home advantage !

Nah, still not good enough...let's also rig the draw, so we have the poorest opponents in the history of the WC.

Pffft, needed to buy the ref...but we've made it to the semi's thanks to penalties once again. Let's not tell anyone *ever* that penalty kicks are a German invention.

Wow, we must be the best in the world to have made it this far against all these odds !

Oh wait, we're now playing the Italians....who had to cheat to win against Australia.

....erm, wait : they cheat too ?! Yikes

That's not fair, then we stand no chance !

...indeed, they're playing us off the pitch Sad

Ah well, bad luck can happen even to the best team in the world Ale

He basically imitated Gascoigne's celebration earlier on, after he had scored his penalty. But Möller did it with more style. Wink

I watched the penalty shootout again a few weeks ago, and actually, all of the penalties taken by the English were excellent, with the exception of the Southgate one. Yet you still couldn't beat us at it. Still, this proves that English footballers, the really good ones, not the overrated ones, can be good at the penalties also.

Real Madrid couldnt score a goal in la Liga, they play Bayern and score 3 in 45 minutes.

German football really is awful, cant wait until the QF when they will be no German team in the CL. It will be left to Ballack to fly the German flag;a overarated, washed out midfielder, who looks like a lost child when playing with superior players, avoiding the football because he isnt as good as Lumpard Laugh

Coming from an Englishman whose team had shown some of the worst, most boring football at the WC ever. If German football is "awful", English football is nonexistent, and it did get even worse after McClaren took over, who would have thought that to be possible. If you talk about nations, you talk about national teams, and not about the clubs that often consist of foreign players.

I seriously hope that England qualifies for the 2008 EC, and I hope to meet you in the QF. Furthermore, I hope that we won't thrash you, but take it to the penalties, just to see the balls of your overrated superstars to shrink to the size of peanuts. Again.

I wasnt talking about national teams, but club football. I am more concerned about club football than international football. If however I was more concerned about the English national team I would say something like; Germany havent beaten a good european team since Euro 96, so come Euro 2008, we wont meet you in the QF as you will go out in the group stages again as you cant win on penalties.

Germanys recent national success is down to luck of the draw; playing crap aisian/American teams.

Haha...didn't know that Portugal, the team that repeatedly kicked you out of major competitions in the last few years, is not a "good european team". And we beat them with our B-team, the perfect revenge for the disaster in 2000, when they did the same with us.

Before you talk about German football, get a clue first please. Especially that last sentence of yours makes no sense whatsoever. What a 'lucky draw' we had last year indeed.

Well, after watching it again, I firmly believe that you would have won that shootout against any other team. Just search for it at YouTube, you'll be surprised how good England was at that shootout.

Well, bogey teams do exist, Italy is our nemesis at major competitions. Still, "mental blocks" like that never last forever indeed, that's why I'm pretty confident that we will overcome ours also.

Our even younger youngsters just beat yours (U17) and won a competition in Portugal, so don't get too cocky for now. Very Happy
