Indeed. you more than anyone should know of the benefits a player like kuyt brings to a team other than goals than a van nistelrooy type striker. it's for these reasons I would prefer kuyt over the other two. they don't work as hard as him so don;t have as much of an overall impact on the team. Even when kuyt has his bad days his workrate always ensures his contribution is useful. the same cannot really be applied to martins and berbatov IMO. But others may think differently

No I did not Deano, I said 'shame he's the only one that gets to play in the CL' how on earth does that mean i am suggesting because he currently does play in the CL he is better?

Martins works his arse off every game, he spends the whole 90 minutes closing down defenders and chasing balls down the channel, and all on his own because he's been playing as a lone striker.

I actually think martins is more useful to newcastle because he is so explosive than kuyt or berbatov would be but I don't think martins would benefit our team as much. there is no right answer here kimbo


P.S I remember spurs being linked with kuyt in the summer. Was he their first choice instead of berbatov?

Berbatov. For all of his hard work, Kuyt isn't a very good finisher (in the premiership anyway). Berbatov has been more clinical I assume in his shots/goals ratio. Martins has talent, but is very inconsistent - he does something brilliant, but then misses an open goal.
