Re: Juventus
sissoko might be a good signing but as pointed out before he cant pass worth of $h!t. That is going to hinder him in seria A more than it did in the premiership. 10M is perhaps about right but still a touch high in my opinion. If the price is 15+ then Juve cant be that stupid! can they?

Not really, the prmiership is a much faster pace, you need to think and pass quickly, in Serie A you have more time on the ball

Re: Juventus
In Serie A you have more time, but much less space. Your passing has to be very accurate. Thats why players like Veron, Pirlo, etc are such big success here - the accuracy of their passing is brilliant.
If sissoko can't pass, he will have a bigger problem than he did at EPL.

But this Sissoko news is yet to be confirmed by Juve or Liverpool.
I doubt Juve would pay anything above 10-12Mn on this deal

surely juve realise we have 4 other top class centre mids so therefore they can keep the price down
it's hard to say whether he will be a success if he does move. he has however managed to impose himself and dominate just about every major midfield he has come up against. he is a nightmare for any midfielder in direct competition with him and he also rampages all over the pitch so he isn't just a sitting midfielder. If it's pure destruction you are after then he'll be a perfect fit. if you get enough creative players around him his lack of passing ability won't matter so much
I still not convinced rafa would want to let him go though so maybe the bid will be as high as it has been reported

The way you put it, seems like he is a very capable defensive midfielder. And Juve certainly has a requirement for such a player in the ranks. And given that Nedved, Camoranesi & Marchionni are the creative/attacking midfielders available he would make a good fitCOTR wrote:we'll be lucky if we can fetch 10 millionTarunDang wrote:But this Sissoko news is yet to be confirmed by Juve or Liverpool.

Re: Juventus
Ranieri new Juve Coach Monday 4 June, 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Claudio Ranieri will be unveiled as the new Juventus Coach this evening after he signed a three-year contract on Monday, the club have confirmed.
The Bianconeri needed to replace Didier Deschamps on the bench and the former Parma Coach had become the first name on the club’s list after parting company with the Ducali.
Ranieri succeeded in guiding Parma to safety after being handed the job in February, with the club in a seemingly hopeless position, and seemed set for a move to the Premiership with Manchester City.
However, the former Chelsea tactician has instead put pen to paper on an agreement which will keep him in Turin until 2010. He will be presented to the media at 6pm local time once the Milan stock market has closed for the day.
A Juventus statement read: "For Juventus, this is an authoritative choice fully in line with the company's objectives and tradition.
"A man of international experience and vision, able to embody the aims of the mid-team development plan approved by the Board of Directors.
"With Claudio Ranieri, a season with a wealth of ambitions and new opportunities opens up."
President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli confirmed on Sunday that he believed Ranieri was the right man to guide the team in Serie A next season.
“He has the right characteristics both in terms of his career and his age, which cannot help but be of interest for a long-term project like the one in place at Juve,” he told Raisport.
“It is very important that this Coach is appreciated by the major stars in the squad,” added the chief, referring to Gianluigi Buffon’s vote of confidence for Ranieri.
The former defender started his coaching career in 1987, before leading Cagliari from Serie C1 to Serie A between 1988 and 1991.
He then moved to Napoli, where he ended the season in fourth place, and Fiorentina, where he won the Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup in 1996.
The 55-year-old tactician then led Valencia from 1997 to 1999, winning the Copa del Rey in 1999, and Chelsea from 2000 to 2004, guiding the Blues to a Champions League semi-final before being replaced by Jose Mourinho.
He then returned to Valencia for a second spell on a three-year contract, but was sacked after only six months following the Spanish side’s exit from the UEFA Cup.
After two years working as a television commentator for Sky Italia, Ranieri replaced Stefano Pioli on the Parma bench this winter, leading the Crociati to Serie A safety on the final day of the season.

Word is Juve is negotiating Tiago's transfer to them from Lyon...
Would be a good move for Tiago if he could settle in Italy. It would be good for Portugal too as he's looked out of his depth with us.

Antunes a caminho da Juventus
A.C./ L.P.F.

Re: Juventus
I think it is a good signing considering the choices that Juventus had. Lippi is bent on prolonging his hibernation. Capello is unpopular amongst the fans & players.
The players themselves seem to like Ranieri(Buffon's vote of confidence...& maybe he will stay for sure now)
By the way Ranieri's CV speaks of getting teams out of difficult spots & re-building squads. And that's precisely what Juventus need at this time. And with a club like Juventus, ending up amongst the top 4 in the coming season would not be unthinkable. IMO, with a few good signings they could be potential title challengers.

With someone like Lippi or Capello, could Juve have hoped to win the scudetto? Yeah, there was a chance...
With Ranieri, does Juve have any chance of winning the scudetto?? I seriously doubt it.
Thats the difference.
