I wouldn't mind if Juve win the Scudetto (yeah you heard me say it) simply because I want them to gain revenge on Inter. I may be in a small minority, but come next year if Juve are celebrating a Scudetto I won't lose sleep.

Re: Juventus
I have to agree with Tarun. I think with Ranieri Juve have a good shot largely because there is already a winning philosophy in place at Juve. Ranieri has never been given such a prestigious appointment, IMO. Valencia, pre-Abramovich spending Chelsea, and Parma stand out, and realistically these weren't the best teams in the relevant leagues.

Re: Juventus
@Forza, you ve so litte hope on Milan being able to challenge Inter?
I think from now on the Derby d'Italia will be even more bitter than ever... a lot of people/players will be emotionally too charged up... I can see Materazzi and Camoranesi having a go at each other!! Its gonna be a HUGE grunge game, as if it wasn't always one.
The only reason I like Roma/Torino fans is that they hate Juventus almost as much as we do.

Well, Inter fans can take this somewhat complacent view of their opponents after they won/were awarded recent scudetti. If not Juventus, Milan sure will be title contenders.
And Inter fans can start working up their emotions because as always they will have a lot to hate Juve for

Looks like yourselves and Porto are trying to get Rossi on loan.
Not sure whether Ranieri is interested because he managed Rossi at Parma and really likes him or whether it's lazy journalism putting 2 + 2 together and creating a story.

Re: Juventus
Most likely "logical" journalism.... thats the first thing they do when a club gets a new coach... link his past players to the new club.... coz many times it eventually comes true, it just makes sense...
So Lampard and Rossi to Juve rumours do not surprise me. They sound very logical!

I could see him going to Juve. Just don't see the point of a loan from our angle. He's already been loaned out for a full season. We may as well keep him or sell him.
Unfortunately with the 2 new signings, selling him seems like this most likely move.

The thing is, there is no saying that Nani or Anderson is going to turn out better than Rossi.
I think SAF will be stupid to let Rossi go now... just when he has proven his worth. Rossi can be ManU's Rooney back-up...

Re: Juventus
His problem will always be his height imo. He's too similar to Rooney in height and playing style (more of a forward) so they may never make it as 'striking partners'.
The only way they could work together is in a 4-2-3-1 in the '3' with Ronaldo as the other all behind a striker. However with Nani's and Anderson's arrival this puts him even further behind in the pecking order.
I mean if you put our line up for next season at the moment, he wouldn't even make the bench.
A loan may sound ideal, however I can't see the benifit for us if he stays in Italy, plus I'm sure at Juve he may have the same problems of breaking into the team.
I'd love for him to make it, as he's got a great personality and it's great for kids to come through the youth academy but if a club offered 10 million euros at the moment, I think I may accept.

I think Juve may offer that...
and what I was tryin to say is that there is no guarantee that Nani or Anderson are better... they have just proved themselves in a smaller league for a bigger team compared to Rossi... its the same, if you ask me...

Aren't Juve signing Iaquinta as a replacment for Tez?
I also remember reading about a Juve player that played for Itay U21 last week. a hot prospect for the future, maybe Del Piero's replacment. i forgot his name but i know he is not that tall.

Re: Juventus
That was a Azzurini B side playing....
And you are refering to Juventus Primavera player Sebastian Giovinco, who impressed a lot of people in the Primavera Coppa this season... he is supposed to be good, but he has just played once for the senior team, and that game last week was his first call for the U21s. He was not even in the 30 player shortlist by Casiraghi for the U21 championship this summer... he will take some time to even reach Rossi's level, even tho many say that he has the same potential

Re: Juventus
The Rossi loan to Juventus news might be doing the rounds lately but I think differently here. He can only play as a back-up to DP right now & if Juventus is looking into the future then they might as well buy him out.
But apart from this all, the more pressing & immediate need is to sign a experienced & proven striker in case Trez is leaving the club. Even if he is not then also this requirement stays because Palladino is still inexperienced & unproven on the big stage & though he should get all the chances to do so, Juve still needs a guarantee with a proven striker.
With these priorities in mind,IMO, with limited funds at hand this season...Juve will not spend on loaning/buying Rossi

Re: Juventus
Buffon extends Juve deal Thursday 7 June, 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gigi Buffon has silenced the speculation over his future by signing a contract extension with Juventus until 2012.
The goalkeeper was seriously pondering a move away from the Bianconeri following their Serie A promotion, but he’s been tempted to stay by the club’s hierarchy.
“This is an important day for me,” said the World Cup winner, whose previous agreement was set to expire in 2011. “I have now written a new page in my career and my life.
“It’s a decision which is coherent to last year’s and it confirms my commitment to this team, club and the fans who have never stopped showing me their affection.”
The former Parma No 1, wanted by both Milan clubs, had warned that he would walk if the club couldn’t fight for major honours next season.
“The project which was presented to me is a convincing one because I believe that we can aim for the sporting targets which have been identified,” he added.
“It also creates the basis of a rapport which is now even more stimulating.”
Juventus have spent most of the last year trying to keep hold of the planet’s best shot-stopper and they are obviously delighted with this evening’s development.
“This agreement consolidates our faith in a great champion, a man who shares our thoughts and our values,” noted President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli.
“In these years Buffon has always worked hard with passion and professionalism, he’s always honoured our shirt with great performances.
“This signing comes just days before the end of the season and I’m sure it will be met by the enthusiasm of all Juve fans.”
Director general Jean-Claude Blanc is now hoping that Buffon’s decision to remain will be seen as an important signal for players and fans alike.
“Keeping Buffon was one of the most important points of our project for these next few years,” said the French official.
“The fact that a World Cup winning goalkeeper has faith in our sporting project is something to be proud of. He shares our ambitions.
“Gianluigi liked our articulated and innovative offer that not only places him at the centre of an important plan, but will also boost his image.
“For Juventus it is confirmation of the seriousness with which we are building a competitive squad for next season.”
No financial details of the ‘keeper’s new Bianconeri agreement have been released. Buffon joined Juve in 2001 from Parma in a £33m deal.

Re: Juventus
Trezeguet: Adieu Juve Sunday 10 June, 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s open warfare between David Trezeguet and Juventus. “This club does not respect me. I will leave and take my 140 goals with me.”
The Frenchman is renegotiating his contract, which expires in 2008, but caused controversy during this afternoon’s 3-2 Serie B defeat to Spezia.
When scoring his 15th goal of the season, he celebrated with an offensive gesture to the President in the stands, making the Italian signal for ‘15’ and then ‘I’m out of here.’
“This club does not respect me. They made a proposal that made me understand they have already made other choices,” said Trezeguet to the Press after the Serie B trophy presentation.
Since joining in 2000, the former Monaco man has become Juve’s all-time top foreign scorer with 140 goals.
“I have done what Didier Deschamps asked of me: 15 goals. I was here for seven years and in that time earned the trust of over 14 million fans all over the world, plus the confidence of my teammates.
“Unfortunately, the club has a different viewpoint to mine, so I will leave and take my 140 goals with me, safe in the knowledge I have always given my contribution.
“There is no margin for negotiation now. If they had just told me I wasn’t wanted that would have been better than offering me a ridiculous contract. Perhaps someone has doubts over my abilities. I wanted to carry on with Juve, but the club doesn’t want me.”
This was a day of goodbyes at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin, as the Bianconeri celebrate winning the title and earning promotion, but there were emotional scenes with Trezeguet singled out for embraces and applause by his teammates.
“I am truly sorry for the fans and my companions, but I hope I earned a place for myself in this club’s history. I don’t know what will happen in the future, we will see.”
While Gianluigi Buffon only put pen to paper on a contract extension after Deschamps’ resignation, it seems that new Coach Claudio Ranieri does not require Trezeguet’s services.
There is a row brewing between Juventus and Inter, as the Bianconeri have announced they will not “repeat the Zlatan Ibrahimovic situation” by strengthening their direct rivals.
Juve general manager Jean Claude Blanc reacted angrily to Trezeguet’s actions and that offensive goal celebration.
“As a club we have never made an unacceptable proposal, we are just working to ensure the best for the Bianconeri,” said Blanc.
“We will speak with David. I just want to add that with players who are open to discussion like Buffon, negotiations are easy, but I don’t know how things will go when one door is so obviously closed. Talks should take place at the club, not across the newspapers.”
Alessandro Del Piero has been crowned Serie B Capocannoniere and dedicated the title trophy to “All those who believed in us, ran alongside us and never stopped even in the difficult times.”
The captain also reserved a moment to remember Alessio Ferramosca and Riccardo Neri, the two Juventus youth team players who tragically drowned at the Vinovo training ground earlier this season.

Udinese confirm Iaquinta exit Monday 11 June, 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Udinese President Giampaolo Pozzo has confirmed the latest rumours suggesting that Vincenzo Iaquinta is set to join Juventus.
The world champion has been paired with the Old Lady for some time, as the Bianconeri are looking to strengthen their attacking department in view of David Trezeguet’s probable departure.
“Iaquinta should join Juve, I think he has already signed,” said Pozzo.
“There is an agreement between the outfits although it isn’t official, now the club needs to finalise details with the player,” added the Zebrette chief.
“In any case, I don’t think there will be any problems. If he finds an agreement with Juve the deal is done. They will pay us £7m plus a technical counterpart, which could be Michele Paolucci.”
Pozzo also commented on Fabio Quagliarella, who is co-owned with Sampdoria and is one of the hottest properties on the transfer market.
“We will meet on June 20 and discuss the player’s position, there is an excellent relationship between the two clubs,” explained the official.
“We must understand if there are any important offers for him, if a big side wants him we have no chance of keeping him.
“Seeing his young age and the prices paid for other players, I agree on the fact that he is worth at least £14m,” he claimed, referring to Samp director general Beppe Marotta’s valuation of the forward.
“He is definitely an important player, for his age, his characteristics and what he has shown so far,” concluded Pozzo.

Re: Juventus
going to be a hectic summer at juve but i do have some confidence in ranieri's spending: he bought cech and robben for chelsea before he was sacked. Yet as a manager i doubt if he is ready for this challenge, but i wish him well and hope he returns juve to where they are acustomed to being.
Personally i think Juve need a nice big PR signing to show the world that they are back. Tevez? Or perhaps a top class CM like De Rossi, that would be nice. hehe.

Re: Juventus
Ranieri recalls Miccoli
Tuesday 12 June, 2007
Claudio Ranieri has called for Fabrizio Miccoli’s return to Juventus after his spells with Fiorentina and Benfica.
The former Perugia starlet was never expected to wear the Bianconeri jersey again following his public disagreement with the club, but the new Coach has transformed the situation.
“He is a striker we like very much and I am counting on him for next season,” confirmed Ranieri.
“The time spent in Portugal helped him in a time when Juve did not need his services. We have signed Vincenzo Iaquinta and I hope to count on Miccoli’s qualities as well.”
The 28-year-old ‘Romario del Salento’ has been at Benfica since 2005 and impressed in the Champions League for the Portuguese club.
His loan spell was set to be renewed, but Ranieri has made it clear he would make good use of Miccoli at the new Juventus.
“During his time at Juve, Fabrizio never had a problem with the directors,” added agent Francesco Caliandro on ‘Radio Radio.’
“The only issue was when Juventus and Fiorentina discussed his future. I will stop there. Suffice to say the problems were not between Miccoli and the Bianconeri directors.”

Re: Juventus
I can understand that...if I remember correctly, didn't Ranieri also sign Miccoli for Valencia in his 2nd spell?
