Personally i think Juve need a nice big PR signing to show the world that they are back. Tevez? Or perhaps a top class CM like De Rossi, that would be nice. hehe.

You got a very good point there regarding a big PR signing. But somebody like Tevez who would cost anywhere upwards of £20 Mn would probably be out of reach for Juve this season as their entire budget is about £37 Mn (minus £10 Mn already spent for Iaquinta)

Ranieri's line of thought sounds impressive with regards to requesting back Miccoli. He is a striker with tremendous potential, which was actually stifled when he was playing with Juve by then coach Capello(that ass did it to a few others like Del Piero, Ronaldo, Beckham...& all these players eventually proved him wrong)
& subsequently Miccoli was loaned out.
If Miccoli is back then Juve have a decent strike force in Del Piero, Palladino, Iaquinta & Miccoli (considering that Trez might leave)

Milito agent opens Juve door Wednesday 13 June, 2007

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The agent of Zaragoza stopper Gabriel Alejandro Milito has claimed that his client will join Juventus this summer.

The Bianconeri are in desperate need of a quality central defender and the Argentine, who recently told Coach Agapito Iglesias that he was “determined” to move to a Serie A club, seems to be on his way.

“Gabriel has ended his cycle at Zaragoza and his position on this issue will not change,” noted agent Eduardo Gamarink to AS. “He will leave and he will leave for Juventus.

“The previous management reached an agreement with us last year and even if the officials have changed in the meantime, they have to keep that promise.

“Juventus are in a hurry to close the deal as they have been waiting for some time and we appreciate this.

“In about a week or 10 days everything should be resolved. I insist on the fact that Gabriel has ended his time here.”

Zaragoza have allegedly turned down all of Juventus’ offers for the stopper so far, but a fee of around £12m is expected to be agreed.

The Spanish side are now understood to have accepted the fact that Milito wants out and the operation will be concluded once the Liga campaign ends this weekend.

The 26-year-old, whose brother Diego Milito played in Italy for Genoa, started his career with Independiente in 1997 before joining Zaragoza in 2003.

yes please milito and i like micolli too. Good back up/rotate for delps.
dang ur probs right about Tevez being too expensive but i really cant see anyone paying more than 25M for him, which is still expensive!
He will probably end up at inter with all the other argies... they must have at least 10 by now??!!

Yeah, you're right. He'll end up at Inter & Moratti has all the money to splash. And probably MSI, who owns Tevez would like to cash on to the opportunity as well considering the market valuation that Tevez is drawing currently

Today things were said in the media such as a possible exchange between Trezeguet and Camonaresi and Cris and Tiago. I really doubt this will happen because Tiago and Cris are younger than Camo and Trez. Have you heard anything about this in Italy?

We have a nice South American XI and 5 subs Wink :

    ----------------------------Cesar (Bra)
Maicon (Bra) - Cordoba (Col) - Burdisso (Arg) - Maxwell (Bra)
Zanetti (Arg) - Cambiasso (Arg) - Recoba (Uru) - Solari (Arg)
    --------------------Adriano (Bra) - Crespo (Arg)

Subs: Carini (Uru), Samuel (Arg), Mariano (Arg), Cruz (Arg), Ribas (Uru)

I think Inter might just be the best south american team in the world Wink

Inter have become an Argentinian bastion (taking it to the extreme really...), the German days are over.

I actually thought about this yesterday. It would be nice to have a German 'bastion' abroad again. The Dutch (more or less) have Barça, the Argies have Inter. If Schuster had joined Real, there would have been a chance of Real becoming something like that in the long run, would have made it easier for them to get the best German players.

Whatever, I expect more German talent to go abroad in future. If Bayern didn't go on a shopping spree this summer, some would be playing abroad already.

I started supporting Inter when we were quite a "German" team, our quota of 3 foriegn players included Mathaues, Klinnsman, & Brehme. Good days, wouldn't mind some Germans at Inter in the near future.

Here it goes.... this was on Channel4

Old Lady target Tiago Thursday 14 June, 2007

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus are keen on securing the services of Lyon midfielder Tiago, who has admitted he would favour a move to Turin.

The Portuguese star recently admitted that his time with the French champions might be near its end and has been paired with both Milan and the Bianconeri.

“Juventus’ offer is very interesting for me, I am fascinated by the Old Lady,” stated the midfielder when questioned about Juve’s interest.

Tiago, who started his career with Sporting Braga before joining Benfica in 2002 and appearing for Chelsea in 2004-05, is highly considered by Coach Claudio Ranieri.

“He is a player that Claudio would want at all costs,” confirmed Ranieri’s assistant Christian Damiano.

Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas has set a £14m price tag on Tiago’s head, but reports suggest he might be willing to reconsider that request if Mauro Camoranesi were to be included as part of the deal.

The winger seems close to leaving Juventus after turning down the club’s proposal of a contract extension, as the Bianconeri failed to meet his wage demands.

David Trezeguet was also paired with a swap deal including Tiago, but Aulas declared that the striker is no longer a primary target for Lyon, who had eyed the Frenchman in the past.

“We already have three top-level forwards, Karim Benzema, Fred and Milan Baros, we don’t need any more,” said the French chief, whose side won a record sixth straight League title this term.

Tiago would be an unimpressive signing, hopefully the rumour will fade away like the Sissoko one (If that happened my interest in football would categorically finish).

    I am unenthusiastic about Iaquinta.

Roman will not stay at Boca, why don't we bid for him? One can but dream, eh? But, really, we were linked with Diego et al, why not get the maestro?

Almiron will be a great purchase (a superior Tiago), as will Milito.

The real coup is Criscito, the best under-21 defender in the game.

Juventus are interested in VDV according to pavel Nedved.

Would be a good move as he's a real top(/world) class player. Play him in #10.
I'm not familiar with Juve's current team though. Who's in midfield/attack?

    I'd be delighted with VDV, an artist, the problem has been the rigidity of our system with two defensively sound CM's, but with Nedved ageing I think he might move deeper and more central. Presuming Camo leaves, we could play;

    Almiron/Salihamidzic-Zanetti--Nedved

Not sure if Tiago rumors are true. But he has really done well in the last season. He is not really great going forward but does play the holding game better & is good at passing as well.

Requilme would be an awesome addition...though a dream...like you said

Thats not gonna work, there is no goalscorer...You will need a Treze or his replacement upfront. DP's scoring average per game is not good enuf to be a lone striker... he is more of a support striker

VDV will probably be a DP or Nedved replacement.

    Salihamidzic.......Almiron..........Zanetti........Nedved

    ....................................Del Piero

Well that was Bluenine's trademark contempt for DP & whatever success he has achieved at whatever levels he has played Wink

I thought you didn't like football?

It's not that I dislike it, I very much enjoy playing it, it just isn't at all important to me.
