ricketts won 1 cap whilst playing for Bolton. Phillips a couple playing for Sunderland. Downing has been in the squad playing for Boro.
In the under 21's Taylor, Milner, Nugent, Richards, Carson amongst others all play at northern clubs.
Your theory only works because you selectively ignore these facts.
Ricketts more than earnt it to be fair, same with Phillips, he was a class player. I'd say Downing has earnt it aswell although he was fast track because of a need for a left footed player.
The U21s is different as it doesn't have all the newspaper hype surrounding it, the manager could select a player from a league 2 northern side and no one would care.
I've proved my theory time and time again.
Konchesky won his England cap playing a friendly because at the time there was a dearth of decent english left backs, and because Cole and Bridge were injured if I remember.
Anton is well known because he is rio's brother which is natural
Dawson was recieving plenty of media attention even when he was at Forest- his first call up to the England squad was when he was playing for them. Forest arent a southern team.
Lennon recieves media attention because he is an exciting attacking player and not a defender. These types of players, especially english ones, get more attention. Plus everyone bar you can see he is class.
Anymore examples that I can take apart?
