Gerrard, Torres and Reina certainly are and there are plenty of people who think Masch is. Alonso just made himself one of if not the most expensive centre midfielder ever.

if Alonso is world class then 50 players are world class. Masch..nah he's not. The other 3 could probably go down as such with maybe a slight question over Torres doing it for a period.

well duh, the only real test of whether are not a player in WC these days, is whether or not he would make it not to the barca starting XI, everyone knows this.

Peopel have such short term memories it is crazy. I would except it from Messiah because he is the biggest generator of Barca hype this side of the globe. Untill the last third of last season Pique wasn't even that rated by Barca fans on here or anywhere. He played very well towards the end for the most part he wasn't that great which is why im still not convinced by him. So far he reminds of Marquez in his carrer who also had a good season whereafter he was hailed as world class. Rather he had a great season and then dropped to his old level. The jury is still out on Pique.

Can't believe some people still don't count Yaya as world class. The more I watch of him the more impressed I am.

He seems to become better and now he has even shown he can play Cb in important games. Only Essien can compete as a Dm.

These days Reina > Cech.
Apart from that cant say so much. I'd still have Rooney in there though.

eto'o has to be on the list for torres at least, and kaka and nesta havent been good for good knows how long now.

seriously, now i'm not saying he is WC, it takes more than one season to become that, but the boy who i hate, was fucking great towards the end of the season, he kept our defense together at the most critical point of last season.

Cesar is currently the best GK in Europe. He should definitely be in any squad.

What I meant to say was that he was playing at his best towards the end but for the most part of the season he wasn't that great.

Ribery? Ibrahimovic?

He's been one of the best players at an International tournament (2004), leading the scoring at International qualifying at present and helped his team win a Champions league trophy, with a much better CL scoring record than Ibrahimovic for example.

I'd put Forlan in before Rooney.

La Liga hype, no way is Forlan an improvement on Rooney.

Kevin Phillips won the Golden Boot with Sunderland, Alan Shearer (same period) never won it.

But everyone knows who was the better player.

Your argument is bollocks, Forlan is vastly inferior to Rooney, don't forget Rooney as an 18 year old effectively replaced Forlan at Old Trafford.

Forget Rooney, not sure who you can leave Eto'o out. I like Rooney but as yet he's still failed to score 20 league goals in a season and contrary to what some seem to believe on here, he's hardly lit up the CL either.

Eto'o, Villa, Torres - those three should be there regardless.
