Well, IF there was no Calciopoli, God only knows how many titles Inter would have won in the last 15 years... Maybe Inter would have won this year anyways, IF there never was a calciopoli...

Who can tell?? Perhaps only God. And you, apparently... undeniable my foot!!

Tweedle wrote:Inter DID only win the league last season because of the Calciopoli scandel - its undeniable.

The way in which they won it was pretty impressive though - in terms of points totals etc.

If Calciopoli hadn't happened, Inter would never have been able to buy Ibrah - who has arguably been their best player this season

On the face of it, its unlikely.

You wouldn't have got Ibrah - who you yourself have said has been your best player this season.

Juve, even without the bias last season were a better squad - after all, they had Buffon, Cannavaro, Thuram, Nedved, Emerson, Vieira, Ibrah and Trez who are all apparently world class players

You are forgetting that 10-15 years of calciopoli helped them reached this stage... Since you are talking about a "IF" scenario of what would have happened without Calciopoli, then try and imagine no calciopoli and no cheating... Maybe Inter would have on 3-4 titles more, built on that success, and had Ibra, Henry and Ronaldo playing for them... who knows.

If you go in the past and change major things, its very difficult to predict the effect of those ripples...

    True.

but returning to the original arguement, its undeniable that the calciopoli scandel helped you this season king

What, you are going to stop reading the arguement and just keep repeating yourself now?? You can post that a 1000 times, Tweedy, it won't become true... Wink

Unless your original arguement is that if Juve and Moggi were allowed to keep cheating and nothing was caught... yeah, from that scenario, Calciopoli definately helped not just Inter, but Serie A and football in general!!

Milan are waiting for Etoo. No, they're waiting for the season to end before they even make a bid for Etoo. Till then, all their alternatives are getting snapped up. And eventually they'll be turned down for Etoo as well.

    They'll probably bring back Shevchenko.

Eto'o, Henry, and Sheva have publically rubished a move to Milan this summer... unless Galliani knows something we don't (which is very possible), all 3 of them look very unlikely to move... Milan's transfer strategy is looking very poor...

Iaquinta, Toni, Suazo, and most likely Klose are already gone!!

Didn't Toni say that he would never betray the Violas fans by moving to another Italian team? I'm surprised they didn't move for Iaquinta though.

Maybe Milan has other irons in the fire, they will probably be hoping that Ronaldo takes his end of season form into next season.

You can win the transfer battles. We can win the trophies that have credibility.

I am sure Milan will try and purchase some good players. Suazo, I'm sorry, he may have scored 8 penalties this past season, but maybe we weren't interested in him???? Surely a possibility.

I fully trust a management team that has made 2 European Cups, a Super Cup and a Scudetto possible in the last 4-5 years.

I personally don't think there's anything wrong with Milan not signing a striker. Ronaldo + Gilardino + Inzaghi + Oliveira is a very good set of strikers. Maybe a young talent to add some options.

    - There is a new rumour saying Madrid have matched Juve's offer for Gabi Milito, and are also offering a youth player or two as part of the deal, but Milito's agent denied it and instead acknowledged the Juve offer. So that indicates that Milito will indeed go to Juve. He himself said "my cycle in Spain has come to an end".

    - Roma are re-igniting their interest in Cicinho.

Although i think we do need one(Oliveira is unreliable IMO), you are right, its not a top priority. But we do need squad depth if we are to challenge for the Scudetto. Don't really care about the CL, i want the scudetto Cool

We really really need a top LB who can attack as well as defend. Janku cant defend to save his life (to be fair though, he aint a natural LB).

    My priorities would be:

-) two defenders (LB + CB)
    -) a proven striker
-) an all around midfielder like Tiago

Interesting you mention Tiago, because I read an article saying Milan, Juve, and Barcelona are the clubs chasing him. Though I personally am not sure he'd be a worthwhile signing for us.

Depends on how much money you will give us as a part of the deal... I am sure Inter would consider it... Wink

Apparently, your favourite player Figo organised a dinner meeting between Laporta and Inter management where this was discussed... basically Laporta is thinking of selling Eto'o to keep Dinho happy... Adriano & Dinho are good friends too, so it will be a good move for all concerned....

Maybe "Partiano" (as we "fondly" call him) can show Dinho how to really party and come late for trainings Wink

It just shows that there are no good strikers about, dont get me wrong Eto is class, but the amount of interest in him, you would think he was the second Ronaldo (the Brazilian one in his peak). 5 years ago not that many big clubs would have been interested in Eto, as there were many other great strikers available.

Eto'o is the second ronaldo rez.

5 years ago he was very raw - ronaldo peaked very early remember.

Eto'o has matured year on year, IMO he's a 25 a season striker in any league (injuries aside)

No I dont mean when Eto was 5 years younger, I mean if the amount of good strikers were available today. The interest in Eto wouldnt be as high.

I dont think he is anywere near being the second Ronaldo, the stats alone confirm this, before you even look at how they play on the pitch.

I think the lack of good strikers is making people believe he is better than he is. Dont get me wrong, I rate him very highly and think he is probably the best striker in the world, but in todays climate, it's not that much of an achievement.
