btw, that "centenary shirt" is just the white red striped Ambrosiana shirt, isn't it?
What a crappy choice to celebrate our centenary.... :/

bluenine wrote:Coz stupid Nike made mistakes... In the patch which highlights the 100 year anniversary of the club two error's are found. The shirts have been pulled off the market making them collector's items while corrections take place.

Here is the link to the picture of the patch:

    http://www.gazzetta .it/Calcio/ Primo_Piano/ 2007/06_Giugno/ 01/maglia_ 0106.shtml

The first mistake is a big one. Inter was founded on March 9, 1908. The patch reads March 8, 1908 (8 Marzo 1908). The second error is more difficult to pick up. There is an "R" missing in the line 100 anni Nerazzuro. Nerazzuro should be spelled NERAZZURRO with 2 "R's"

I can understand the spelling mistake but to get the date wrong!! Come on NIKE get your act together!

Di Natale is close to signing for Wolfsburg (now managed by Magath)

Eleftheropoulos and Jarolim both sign for Siena

Kovac hasbeen freed by Juve and signed by Dynamo Zagreb

Barzagli is ready to leave Palermo after they freed Corini.

He will just be kissing his azzurri career good bye!!!

Toni can survive the move, also coz Bayern is a big team, but a Di Natale?? Not a chance. There are too many quality strikers in Italy waiting to take his place.

I actually don't mind, never really rated Di Natale... among the two, I prefer Tavano, and his career took a huge hit by a move away...

Empoli might be a small club, but for the 2nd season in a row they have finished among the top 7...Tavano was foolish to move at the time...

Romanian Chivu denies deal with Inter Milan

BUCHAREST June 9 (Reuters) - Roma defender Cristian Chivu denied on Saturday he had signed a deal with Inter Milan despite repeated reports in the Italian media.

"In the past year the media moved me from one club to another every day," the Romanian told reporters at Bucharest airport. "None of these reports is true."

"I'm a Roma player for a year more so I'm not allowed to be contacted by any club."

"For the moment, I'm in talks with my club in order to find ways to extend our contract."

Earlier this week, Chivu's agent Victor Becali said he had received offers for the defender from several Spanish, English and Italian clubs.

Di Natale said he is not going to Wolfsburg.

    From channel 4:

    Di Natale denies German goal
    Sunday 10 June, 2007
Antonio Di Natale denies he told German newspapers he was ready to sign for Wolfsburg. “Do you really think I said that?”

The Udinese forward’s future is in the balance and he has been heavily linked with Roma and Juventus, but this weekend an interview emerged in the German Press stating he had a deal with the Bundesliga outfit.

“Do you really think I said that to the German papers?” commented Di Natale when asked about the quotes.

“All I did was thank them for their interest and reiterated I would remain at the Stadio Friuli.”

If he is to stay, then teammate Vincenzo Iaquinta is only days away from completing his transfer to Juventus.

It’s rumoured the replacement at Udinese will be Reggina hitman Rolando Bianchi, who shattered his personal best this term with 18 goals.

It's almost a done deal. An other romania Inter player (Ianis Zicu) made a deal with Dinamo. He has the same agent as Chivu, Victor Becali. His brother, Ioan Becali is a close person with Dinamo. In the Romanian press it says that the deal was Zicu to Dinamo and Becali to convince Chivu to go to Inter.

This is what I was afraid of... it might just have been a ploy by chivu's agent to create a media story and make Roma soften up during contract negotiations....

The contract is still not signed, so I am still hopeful...

My guess is that this simply means that a move to Inter is not 100% sure yet.

Chivu is just backing up himself just in case he ends up staying in Rome. Roma fans are very passionate and have this myth about the loyalty of their players, they'd make his life very hard if he stays after publicy admitting a desire to move.

Juve have offered 16 million for Gabi Milito, but Zaragoza want 24 million. The actual fee will probably be closer to Juve's offer, and this also means that he will almost definitely move there (if the deal doesn't fall through), because Barcelona are the only other team who had a small interest in him, but the transfer fee is too much.

With Balzaretti out, Juve will need a CB.... I guess they realised that Balzaretti is not ready to be a scudetto winning stopper..... I wonder if they are going to keep Legrotaglie?? Another season in Serie A with Legrotaglie will be fun Laughing

Oh yeah, baby!!! This could make my summer Wink

    Tevez: Inter want me
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
West Ham striker Carlos Tevez has confirmed that Italian champions Inter are keen on securing his services. The Nerazzurri have been paired with the Argentine over the past few months with some reports suggesting that Massimo Moratti had already opened talks with his representative Kia Joorabchian. And now the South American starlet has fuelled speculation that he could become a Nerazzurri signing. “I know Inter are interested in me,” said Tevez when questioned on the issue.

“It would also be nice to play in Italy, especially in a team that has so many of my fellow countrymen. “I know that there will be some meetings and some discussions, but I really don’t know if there is anything official yet.”

Tevez, whose controversial summer signing from Corinthians saw the Hammers fined a record £5.5m, has made it clear that he is ready to leave the Premiership. Reports in May had fuelled speculation that Inter were ready to discuss a £25m deal, but £10m might now be enough to lure Tevez to the San Siro.

The 23-year-old is a reported target for Real Madrid, Sevilla, Liverpool and Manchester United as well and is contracted to West Ham until 2010. However, MSI, who own his contract, have the power to sell him on for a release clause of just £100,000.

Adriano Galliani: “I don’t want to delude our fans. It is possible that someone will arrive, but we might also make no new signings, while I can guarantee that all our key players will stay.” Grr

I for once wish that Galliani could cut the same old Cr@p he's pulling every summer. It's almost as if he's doing his best to infuriate the fans with his comments. "We might not sign anyone, we don't need players etc etc". FFS Baldie, get your act together! Evil or Very Mad

    Laugh

Last year, he was totally out of line with that comment... Milan needed more players, specially a striker... but now, you don't really need a striker... Ronaldo+Gila+Inzaghi+Oli is not that bad... the only prob is that with both Gila and Oli totally out of form, its not prudent to give both of them a second chance... maybe you need to exchange a striker, Oli out and say a Suazo in... oh wait, Suazo is already gone... maybe Iaquinta... oh, he is gone too Wink Toni?? Galliani better act fast...

Milan need fresh blood IMHO. Yes, they won the CL again and were quite impressive in the later stages of the tournament, when experience matters most, but there absolutely is no guarantee that they'll be able to repeat that next year with the same squad. The competition is going nowhere, and will improve their squads.

Especially in the league, fresh legs might become a crucial factor next season, which most probably is going to be way more competitive with Juve and others back in the Serie A.

At the very minimum, they need a top striker, a top defender, and a young understudy for Seedorf - then they will be at par with Inter.

Yeah, I am in a modest mood today Wink

Yes, they won the CL again and were quite impressive in the later stages of the tournament, when experience matters most, but there absolutely is no guarantee that they'll be able to repeat that next year with the same squad. The competition is going nowhere, and will improve their squads.

Especially in the league, fresh legs might become a crucial factor next season, which most probably is going to be way more competitive with Juve and others back in the Serie A.

Do you expect Inter to win the league again next season bluenine? Does the club feel pressure to silence the critics who say that Inter only won so convincingly last season due to the Calciopoli scandal, so their Scudetto is not really 'deserved'?

Nah, that ways 50% of the scudetto's are not deserved coz of lack of real competition. Its loser talk...

The pressure is finally off, we expect Inter to play next season without carrying the burden of the past... its a good thing, and yes, we expect Inter to win another scudetto. Next season will hopefully be our last season with the scudetto as the primary focus. After that, we shall focus on the CL.

I see, thanks. I wonder if Milan will focus on the league more next season. And Juve will have the advantage of not playing in Europe, they can fully concentrate on the league.

Inter DID only win the league last season because of the Calciopoli scandel - its undeniable.

The way in which they won it was pretty impressive though - in terms of points totals etc.

If Calciopoli hadn't happened, Inter would never have been able to buy Ibrah - who has arguably been their best player this season
