Apparently Udinese have won the secret auction of Quagliarella from Sampdoria!! Udinese quoted EUR 7M to Doria's EUR 6.3 M for the other half of the player...

Deano's face is about to get even redder Wink

According to rumours, Udinese have also invited fresh bids from ManU and Juve, selling price is apparently around EUR 16 M.

How stupid of that Inter director to fly to Barcelona. Because Etoo is in South Africa lol!

Even if he's talking to Etoo's agent, it's pointless. Laporta, Rijkaard, Ronaldinho, and Etoo have all said he's staying.

16m euros for Quag wouldn't be a bad deal at all - he has the ability, he just needs to be a bit more consistent and he could be a top player

Celtic in talks with Donati - Is he good? Gattuso thinks so...

They're also interested in Gennaro Delvecchio, but he seems keen to remain in Italy.

It is esential now for Samp to keep a hold of Palombo and try to structure a team around him.

Lucchini will go straight in at right-back, Bellucci now definately will start with Bonazzoli, i think they will compliment each other, strength and shrewdness.

Mazzarri is know as the 'miracle worker' in Italy, he needs to do a good job now, the club are also keeping an interest in the following players that would add depth to the squad:

Juventus pair Mirante and Gastaldello, A. Lucarelli, Vigiani, Caracciolo, and Pelle. If they can get either Pelle or Caracciolo that gives them excellent physical presence in attack, Mirante is a good young keeper, the others are average.

Torino are also building a good side now, theyhave made so many signings already!!! Grella, Corini, Ventola, plus they just get Bjelanovic and Paolo Zanetti from Ascoli, looks like Novellino made some shrewd decisions there! Torino have also been heavily linked with so many top players like Abbiati, Caracciolo, Bovo, Natali, D. Zenoni, Pinzi, Coda, Mantovani, Liverani, Caracciolo, Bucchi, Riganò, Reginaldo, Di Michele, Cascione, Padalino, and Padoin!!!!!!! Looks like Novellino could have quite a squad there next season! <Ale>

He had a good start to last season, even called up by Donadoni for one of the early friendlies but i personally think Volpi and Palombo are more dynamic and intelligent, but Samp need squad depth if they want to remain in the top half of the table. If they can get a good price for him, they can seek a replacement. No question though Donati and Delvecchio would be good buys for Celtic, especially Donati, but only if they can adapt, Strachan should be providing an analysis of the possibility of this, if he is going to buy them.

I've heard Samp, Udinese and Torino linked with Carraciolo - whoever ends up getting him is very lucky imo and will make a huge profit in 1 or 2 years time.

When he eventually comes good he will be a bit special.

    Tomasson Closer To Stuttgart Exit

The Dane is free to leave the German champions after trainer Armin Veh announced he played no part in his future plans.

Olympiakos originally showed an interest in Tomasson back in the winter but were snubbed by Stuttgart. Their interest hasn’t cooled and the club are reportedly in discussions with both the player and Horst Heldt.

Also in the running for the former Milan striker are Villarreal, with whom the player spent 6 months on loan this season. He scored 4 goals in 11 games for the ‘Yellow Submarines’.

The Spanish side have the option to buy at the end of the loan period, but are baulking at the €1.5 million asking price.

Tomasson would love a return to Italy, but initial interest from Roma, Atalanta, and Genoa has not been followed up.

    Udinese to keep Quagliarella
    Thursday 21 June, 2007
Udinese have insisted that they won’t sell Fabio Quagliarella if, as expected, they take control of his ownership tomorrow.

The club has been forced into a blind auction with Sampdoria to resolve his co-ownership status and it seems as if the Bianconeri have made a more lucrative bid.

Whispers claim that Udinese have offered £5m for Samp’s share and Doria have bid around £4.5m for the Friuli outfit’s half.

Those rumours have led to speculation that Udinese will then sell the Italian international to the highest bidder.

However, sporting director Pietro Leonardi has underlined that the former Torino and Ascoli attacker will be going nowhere.

“Our fans can stay calm,” he noted. “We are almost certain that our offer for the player is higher than Sampdoria’s valuation.

“If that is the case then I am telling our supporters to go and buy replica Quagliarella shirts because he is not transferable.

“He’ll play with us next season.”

Quagliarella, 13 Serie A goals last term, has been strongly linked with Manchester United, both Milan clubs, Roma and Juventus.

The English champions were rumoured to have already made Sampdoria a £10m offer last month.

    Roma complete Juan swoop
Roma have this evening confirmed the capture of Juan Silveira Dos Santos from Bayer Leverkusen.

The stopper has been strongly associated with the capital outfit for some time and has completed the move on Thursday.

The Stadio Olimpico outfit have netted the South American after Leverkusen accepted a £4.5m transfer fee.

Juan, who will be presented to the media in July after the Copa America, has agreed a five-year contract worth £2.2m a campaign before tax.

As part of the agreement, Roma will play a friendly against Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena on July 29.

The centre-back’s arrival will now increase speculation that the Giallorossi will sell Cristian Chivu in the near future.

The Romanian, tied to Roma until 2008 and wanted by Inter and Barcelona, has so far failed to agree terms on a contract extension.

Meanwhile, Roma have also confirmed that they have signed striker Mirko Vucinic on a permanent basis.

The youngster arrived on loan from Lecce last summer and the Italian giants have taken up their option to keep him by paying just over £5m.

The international has signed a contract with the Romans until 2011 and will see his wages gradually rise over the next four years from £1.1m to £1.5m a season.

    Caracciolo is good!

He is strong and physical but mobile and alert, when he plays for Palermo he always forces the opposing marker to drop deeper, by sheer force. He has a presence on the pitch, he holds the ball up well and he creates space for himself, he has drive and dynamism, plus an eye for goal, if only his finishing could be more consistent and better, but i think he has potential, he just neeeds stability and the right coach and tactical system.

At Palermo, his start was fantastic, obviously post January everybody at Palermo suffered because of the Zamparini-Guidolin war, but you will not get his goals out of playing him as a lone striker, he needs supply and focused support, at Palermo his role as a partner was transformed into someone who could hold the ball up for the advanced midfield support. Having said that, he would be excellent for a tactic like Roma who have dynamic wingers, i think Totti would compliment him wonderfully.
