They bought Ibrahim Ba!
aby_gooner wrote:Forza, so whats the state with Milan Transfers. While Other big clubs have started their activities, Milan's officials seem to have only two jobs in hand, confirm and deny interest in Ronnnie and Eto'o and stating that Kaka will stay on.
So apart from Olivieira out, are there other players coming in?
You guys could surely do with a defender and a midfielder and another striker to replace Oliviera.

Hey man.
Well as you probably know Milan have a different strategy than our profligate cross-city cousins. This strategy has also reaped great reward for us, as our cross-city cousins will doubtless testify.
But to address your point: Milan moved for Abidal and Thiago (the players said so) but with minimum conviction. That means they’re definitely looking for a midfielder and a defender.
Our main aim this market has been a world class forward. Rumours in the Italian press suggest we are after Pato, the 17-year-old wonderkid, but due to his age, he will not be able to arrive until January 2008.
As a result, Gazzetta (the newspaper not the website) reckons we should buy an Italian player such as Cassano, who would come on the cheap and with a lot of desire.
Other than that, papers in Italy also suggest that Milan are very eager to get Ronaldinho, even if Berlusconi has communicated that Laporta “would have to leave the country if he sold Ronaldinho”.
The problem is if we get Ronaldinho then we can’t get Pato and vice versa due to non-EU rules. Ditto for Shevchenko and Eto’o; the former IMO would represent a step backwards.
Note: I am not saying Barcelona will sell, just what the Italian press thinks.
So our targets are Pato, Ronaldinho, Shevchenko, Eto’o, Motta, Cassano and a defender.
I personally think Ronaldinho would not be a good purchase, even if Barcelona would sell him for some reason. In our system, a player like Cassano could flourish, and we could also go for a defender like Cannavaro (if he wants out) or Barzagli.
The thing about Milan is that they keep their cards very close to their chest and try to surprise their fans. Ancelotti hinted that there might be a surprise when he said an “unsuspected player” wants to come to Milan.
And, no, it wasn't Ba.

Not at all.
Milan are supposedly in the lead in signing Pato. That story was bogus.

Real reason is that Milan are waiting for Real Madrid to do their business and be able to sign their fringe players.
Likes of Salgado, Cannavaro, Cassano and Emerson, all which have been linked to AC Milan moves in the past, and talked by Berlo himself!

Not entirely true.
Berlu and Galliani both said they don't want Emerson, and Berlu said he would want a younger option than Canna.
Cassano is not just a fringe player, he is also a pariah at Real Madrid.
Newspapers believe that Milan are primed to land a big name. Let's see what happens, and God willing, we will. Other clubs have been very busy on the transfer market.

Re: The Italian Summer - Transfer Talk 2007.
I think Pato may even extend his contract at Inter. He obviously has talent, but I don't think he's ready for a move to Europe yet. He was pretty ordinary in the U20 World Cup (at least compared to the likes of Aguero, Dos Santos,) who have yet to establish themselves in Europe. Milan would be the better move however, as he has more of a chance of signing.
I really don't understand why Milan aren't in for Tevez. He'd be perfect. Lack of activity must be worrying though. I'm not convinced by either of you're fullbacks. Furthermore, Milan must start looking for a Seedorf replacement (Gourcuff perhaps), as well as another top class striker who will start, and probably a keeper to be honest.

If the Milan management thinks Sheva will be a coup, then I may actually switch to lacrosse.
Riquelme is going to Atletico Madrid, it seems.
Adriano? Even Moratti wouldn't do that.
Zlatan? No chance.
Tevez? With the whole MSI thing, etc. no thanks.
Drogba? A very remote possibility.
I think the massive signing could be in defence or midfield. I don't know if Barcelona would do business for Zambrotta ...you have said many times that they won't sell him, but I really don't know. Cannavaro?
I am anxiously trying to figure out our massive signing.

He wasn't "unsuspected"??
I think Milan are in the market for a DM (Emerson is likely), a striker (like forza mentioned) and a fullback... I am very surprised that they haven't moved yet, my only guess is that they are waiting for some development...
@Calidad, why don't you rate their fullbacks? IMO Oddo & Jankulovski are excellent, and have a year or two left in them... they just need a good backup...

Milan really should make a move for Cassano and Emerson. hey dont really need a FB - Oddo and Janku were great this season and Kaladze, Bonera, Favalli, Simic, Cafu, Seginho etc. are all fine as backups.

Re: The Italian Summer - Transfer Talk 2007.
This is starting to look serious!
Sheva begs for San Siro return
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Andriy Shevchenko is set for crunch talks with Chelsea next week begging to be released for a £15m move to Milan. Reports in several newspapers, including the ‘Daily Mirror’, ‘Daily Star’ and ‘Sky Italia’ television, suggest Roman Abramovich will meet with the Ukrainian over the next few days.
The Rossoneri have never disguised their desire to bring Sheva back to San Siro just a year after his £30m switch. President Silvio Berlusconi and Vice-President Adriano Galliani have also repeatedly stated that the player is eager to return to the club where he played for seven years, winning the Scudetto, Champions League, Coppa Italia, European Super Cup and the Ballon d'Or.
Recently Galliani gave a clue as to what was needed to complete the deal. “I spoke to Shevchenko and he knows what he has to do.” Next week the hitman will hold showdown talks with Chelsea owner Abramovich and beg to be released from his contract for £15m so that he can join Milan.
This would after all be a repeat of what happened last summer, when he was only sold because he personally asked the Rossoneri to be set free, supposedly so that he could learn English to communicate better with his American wife Kristen Pazik and their children. Napoli transfer guru Pierpaolo Marino was also asked about the Shevchenko situation and commented on Pazik’s role.
“Shevchenko to Milan? There’s no point asking transfer experts, you’d be better off asking his wife.” Another problem may lie with his former teammates, as it's rumoured many of them would not welcome Sheva with open arms after he abandoned them 12 months ago.
