U*d sign Nani and Anderson Empty Re: U*d sign Nani and Anderson

    Post by Sgoater1 Wed May 30, 2007 10:52 pm

Manchester United have agreed deals to sign Sporting Lisbon's Nani and Porto starlet Anderson.

The midfield duo are regarded as two of the best young talents in Europe and they have been chased by several of Europe's top clubs.

However, United have stolen a march on their rivals by luring the pair to Old Trafford.

United chief executive David Gill and assistant manager Carlos Queiroz flew to Lisbon on Wednesday to hold talks with Sporting regarding Portuguese international Nani and they have quickly agreed a move for the exciting winger.

Nani is highly-rated in Portugal and has been likened to current United star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Tottenham have been credited with an interest in Nani, but United have won the race for his signature.

Brazilian ace Anderson has been widely dubbed 'the new Ronaldinho'.

Anderson has enjoyed a successful season with Porto, helping them win the Portuguese championship.

The 19-year-old has attracted the interest of a host of clubs including Chelsea and Barcelona, but United have agreed an undisclosed fee with Porto for the exciting midfielder.

Both players have agreed personal terms with United and they are due to have a medicals at the club in the near future.

A United statement read: ""Manchester United is delighted to announce it has agreed terms in principle with FC Porto and Sporting Lisbon for the purchase of the registrations of Anderson and Nani.

"Personal terms have been agreed and a formal announcement will take place once the necessary administrative procedures, including medicals, have been completed."

Should the duo tie up the minor details of the moves they will become United's first signings of the summer.

Ridiculously good deals. Ronaldo must have had a say.

These signings will either be fantastic or a disaster.

At Porto he played in the attacking role of a midfield 3.

    SAF changing formations maybe?

Yeah i agree, i didnt really explain myself properly. I think when they play Anderson they will push him forward in support of Rooney with Hargreaves and Carrick in the mid, giving them balance. They will use Scholes when they play normal 442. Ronado, Nani and Giggs will be rotated.

Scholes has changed his position. He stays alot deeper now.

We basically play two sitting midfielders who dictate the play and then 4 roaming attackers in front.

I think both will fit into positions in that front 4 with the other players.

Ronaldo, Park, Giggs, Richardson Nani, Smith Anderson, Rossi, Rooney, Saha.

Good buys - both young and both have the potential to one day be world class. Ale

Still don't have an out and out striker option aside from Saha though Whistle

When will it all be made official?

It just says 'in principle' in the reports, so I assume they are yet to have medicals.

Maybe Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson will all be unvailed as signings together.

The only good that has come out of all this , is the possibly that Richardson will be booted out of the club , personally he should be extradited to Geneva for Crimes against Football.

    @ SS

Eto'o and Huntelaar look unlikely .. both have come out in recent weeks and committed to their clubs...

4-2-3-1 does work but that won't suit Rooney being the lone striker.

If they play just one upfront they can survive with Saha, Smith and Rossi as back up.

Yeah i dont think it will get the best out of him but as a system for the rest of the team i think it might work and as long as they get the results that the main thing as far as Fergie is concerned.

They'll probably play a dynamic front 3 of Ronaldo, Rooney and Anderson, at a guess, with Scholes, Giggs, Carrick, hargreaves behind (3 of the 4) and Nani as back up for the front 3.

Where does this leave Rossi though?

    ok

I really can't see how he will fit to be honest. Neutral

In the hole - Giggs, Anderson
On the wings - Ronaldo, Park, Nani
    Strikers - Rooney, Saha

May well be another striker if Smith is sold as well.

There is 2 ways to look at this

    1. too many cooks spoil the broth

    or

    2. players get injured and the squad does not have the adequate strength in depth ... if SAF wants to fight on 2/3 fronts , like in 1999 .. hope players don't get injured and have the right balance and strength in depth .. so players can be rested and rotated , certain players would play in the FA Cup etc ..
