It just hit me. I think I am the only Milan fan who is also a regular poster on this board. Red n’ Black shows up once in a while, and Kaka has not shown up for ages. Pirlo is also a rare sight these days.

All I'm saying is when Corriere dello Sport, for example, writes that Milan want Cannavaro -- I don't take it personally. I don't blame Milan for what the paper writes.

AS write a lot of bullsh!t but from time to time they are more accurate than some people want to admit. Marca generally do good reporting. Either way, they are just rumours and I don't see why people (not just you) get so offended when they read a story that involves their club or a player from their club.

Fair enough. I normally don't always rebut what AS writes, but when Target Man starts a thread entitled "Kaka forces Real move", and seems 100% serious about it, I feel the need to respond (though even then, I think, I didn't).

Last summer, a lot of Real fans wanted Milan relegated so they could get Kaka. If there was a match-fixing scandal in Spain, I would not want Real or Barcelona relegated just so that we could get their players because it would hurt the footballing community. Wishing for them to lose 7-0 is one thing, but to see their team torn apart is quite another.

I can still see AS tomorrow say something like Kaka's press conference is a cryptic message that he wants to move away. Why? Because he said I will only move away if Milan sell me. Cue a 500 million euro offer.

For my part, the only club I would ever want to see relegated is F.C. Barcelona. Biggrin

I am a big admirer of Kaka and I would love him to play for Madrid but I also recognize that he is committed to Milan and that he, in spite of our dreams, will not leave Milan anytime soon. We had our chance to sign him in 2001 but Florentino wouldn't take a chance on a unproven player so that is our loss.

Anyhow, try not to worry so much about the headlines in Marca and AS. ok

Have to disagree however. His record so far is more than satisfactory (7 in 13) and he seems to have worked hard this summer to get back into shape. I fully expect he will surpass 20 goals next season. We shall see.

He is great going forward, yes.I think Jankulovski is perfect for those games where you have to face a team that is just there to defend, so he doesnt really have to worry about defending and can bomb forward at will. Nevertheless, it was evident in some tougher games that he quite shaky when having to defend. For example, although Oddo isn't as good going forward, i feel safer in facing attacks coming to his side than Janku's.

You do have a point though, cause apart from Janku we have Kaladze, Serginho and Favallinho. But Sergi is an enigma whereas Favallinho is a squad player. And Kaladze can defend well, but he is not great going forward. Furthermore, he'll probably be the starting CB alongside Nesta. But anyway, in my opinion, the fullbacks at Milan should be able to defend and attack as well, because we dont really use any wingers.

Janku is a midfield convert, very much like Zambrotta. These players will always be better going forward than at defending... but I disagree re Oddo... I think Janku can defend as well as Oddo, which is still not excellent. Oddo has a similar problem, good going forward, a bit temperamental at defending - great one day, terrible the next.

I think you need back-ups for Gattuso/Ambrosini and Pirlo more than a LB... but above all, you need a striker.

some people think so. Look at Otto's complaints thread or the recent Code of Conduct thread on the Off-topic where some people say we are in the best shape ever. I for one do not agree with that estimation.

It's just the journalists trying to be Sherlock Holmes...I believe Berlusconi said it'll be someone who has an Italian passport even though he's not Italian, so that Milan can sign Pato in January. Motta checks that box, and hence he is Mr. X.

    Berlusconi never said that.

He just said we're observing two players.

Galliani said the player is non-EU but could become EU by Aug 31. Everything else is media speculation.

We signed Ba simply as a guineapig-test subject for the Milan lab Razz His transfer wasn't even announced and nobody from the management even bothered to mention him. He would be lucky to get in the squad for the odd Coppa Italia game here and there and that's about it.
