Well done lads!!!!! Enjoyed the game in the pub, could have either way! but after the 2-0 it was us! Allthough, I still managed to get a sweaty anus after Babel missed again! Thank god Luigi could be bothered....
As for Drenthe...we all knew he was Worldclass before this tournement MotU for me ( Man of the Universe)
Zuiverloon, Vlaar, were amazing as well last weeks. And even Bruins showed his quality after Foppe gave him the chance, anyone saw how he held the ball?? I told you I wasnt exagerating
Rigters deserves a mention as well! Great player.
And of course we had our dissapointments as well, I mean Babel. He told us he would be topscorer
Madurp and Deridder should be shot, like Gullit said after a sitter, story of his life!
But anyway I didnt expect we would win the damn cup again, history has been written!

Everything we achieve now will be in spite of Van basten. He's killing the team and the joy for Oranje.ibizenco wrote:Gefeliciteerd jongens!!!!

I was still really dissapointed in Foppe. Don't go thinking for a minute that he's a great manager.Fey wrote:

For every good decision (Drenthe LM/LW; Rigters), he makes loads of bad ones (Bakkal playing; Bruins getting 10 minutes the entire tournament; Waterman; De Ridder; subbing a forward for a defender against Israel, etc).
He's still much better than Van Basten though. or , depending on your mood.

Yeah, Bakal didnt do it that bad, I mean he scored a great goal last night. But Bruins would have brought much more, I mean that guy is seriously talented!!!!
Yeah, de Haan was making lots of mistakes, but still...he is way better theb MVB!
But we got quite a number of talents comming through so it seems!

De Ridder didn't do that bad , he should beat players for pace though
still his pass to Bakal was one of the highlights of the night
that and
Drenthe's FLICK-FLACK !

I'm not sure , last season it was done in the 2 days after the Final
Drenthe is a cert to win Player of the Tournament
the team of the tourney will be interesting , i could say 5/6 players are guaranteed.

What amzes me most is that in a VI poll the Dutch football fans said they were most amazed about Drenthe's performance. Why? Haven't they watched any Feyenoord this season? Royston had a hell of a debut season, while all players around him were not performing, despite playing mainly as left fullback and sometimes as left mid or defensive mid, while he is an attacking left winger in 433 (that's what he always played in our youth). I'm not all all suprised he did well & expect far more next season. He's got a cool head, good people around him, he's modest, works his socks off and is fucking talented.Johanne Maximus XIV wrote:jonathan de guzman wrote:Cool we'll see what happens Monday. I was most amazed by Rigters. Hope he goes to Celtic & makes a long nose to the NAC management (who completely underestimated him) after he goes for a limited transferfee of 300K.

i don't want to be the odd one
but Rigters for me has been hot & cold , hit and miss .. times when he looks the deadly forward and other times anonymous , still he has time on his side
haven't seen much of Drenthe in the past season , but if he was a bright spark in a 'not so bright' Feyenoord side last season , enough to get anyone of their seats and notice.
btw , he did play some part in de Klassieker last season in Rotterdam ?

The VI polls are *always* rubbish.
Even I predicted Drenthe to shine this tournament...
Like you Rigters really surprised me, same as Babel (that man was born to play 4-4-2, imagine Huntelaar in Rigters' place ) and maybe most of all Zuiverloon

NAC thought he couldn't score and shouldn't play CF. I don't rate him potential worldclass at all, but his performance was adequate and that's far more than I expected.Johanne Maximus XIV wrote:but Rigters for me has been hot & cold , hit and miss .. times when he looks the deadly forward and other times anonymous , still he has time on his side

to be fair Foppe de Haan before the tourney said
he will miss ' Klaas Jan Huntelaar'
Rigters had shoes to fill in , and to some extent as top goalscorer (4 goals) and showing off his 'acrobatics' skills (which he paid homage to de Haan's policy of taking up gymnastics) paid off

So...by the looks of itthe commotion on the Suriname flags are getting bigger and bigger, so what is everyone's views on it?
On one hand I think its disgusting and it shows this country has no unity or patriotism or whatsoever, its a pure insult as well. And just a matter of time before we have Kabel 2. I know Suriname was just a colony....but what if the others used their flags as well. We would have A Morocan, Turkish, Bosnian, Italian and a Israelian flag that would be weird.
And why is it always our Blacks that do this stuff....You dont see French blacks do this, or British or American blacks.
But on the other hand....nobody ever complains about all the Frisian flags..our own lil Basks

Much ado about nothing. If they want to wave their flags then let them, besides Suriname was a kolony of the Netherlands so it is different than waving a Morroccan flag. Its just those kids letting know which part of teh Dutch empire they're from. Its perfectly innocuous, and there never was a problem with it - yes even Gullit waved one once abck in the day.
The bigger question should be why is this even an issue?!
Its all because of the politicians (people like Wilders and to certain extent Verdonk) purposely sowing a ambience of polarisation across the country, for them to gain political power out of ignorance and fear. Essentially what they're doing is throwing the former kolonies onto the the big heap of evil foreigners, filthy arabs and terrorists. The good ol': "if you're not with us, you're against us!".
The politicians are to blame with demanding people to give up their double nationality, and essentially their heritage for a country that treats people like $h!t, doesn't really want them and only asks/demands for onesided concessions.
And more of those non-issues getting the headlines and continue to polarise the country, so they could earn an additional €20.000 a month. Whores is what they are.
The part of whether Netherlands has something to be proud of is another one, not to mention all those Frisian flags or Limburgers who speak their own language.
I aks you, how is another person having a double nationality effecting your life?
The answer is: not in any way whatsover.
Let them wave that damn flag. They are already playing for Oranje - now you're demanding that they aren't allowed to be proud of their heritage?!
In the next few days this will milked to the fullest by the polticians this week. And let's ignore improtant issues as why do we pay the most taxes in the world, or what are we doing in Iraq, etc.

Some frenchies have waved the occasional flag in the past and what flags are the Americans going to wave anyway? They don't know, and alot of the times they don't care.
Being Ducth and having a Surinam heritage is compatible. It has always been. It has been the same for a long time.
No, because if they have blue eyes its not worth the risk of turning against them to gain politically. But on the other hand....nobody ever complains about all the Frisian flags..our own lil Basks
And again, its the same with Surinam - both are/were parts of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. If you're going to object, object to both or none at all.
Not a selective choice because of the correlation that Surinam descendents have a higher pigment count.

Look, Im not attacking them! But is it really that bad to be Dutch? I mean the same nation that gave them everything! And you wont see Henry a West Indie flag.
Imagine if someone with German roots(imo closer related to us then Suriname) waved the German flag on such event. The world would be too small.
What the Americans have too much of, we lack. Patriotism!

No its not the same. But people aren't willing to accept it.
Lots of Dutch people are descendents from Surinam - which was a Dutch colony. Germany, Moroco etc aren't.
So you have dutch people who are proud to be from that part of the kingdom of netherlands. If it was a flag from any other province it wouldn't have been a 'problem'.
This whole fake 'outrage' is pure chauvinism rather than proper outrage. Chauvinism and double standards.
The reason why it stood out more than before was that while some players took the Surinam flag out of the crowd, people were reminded how many 'darkies' there were in the team. The players weren't trying to provoke anyone (like some accusations), but it was the blue-eyed blond part of the country that was confronted with the reality of a mixed Oranje (majority Surinam descendents).
In the past it was always just Gullit and Rijkaard or Davids and Kluivert, but this U21 had about 6-7 descendents. In the past it wasn't a problem because that one 'Surinam' was allowe dto be proud - now that there are 6 celebrating zijn de poppen aan het dansen.
Chauvinism and double standards. And a lot of fear and ignorance.
This for a country whose second line of their national anthem celebrates to be descendent from Germans (which at most 30% of the country is). No wonder you have an identity crisis!!

Would like to add 1 thing:
If a DUTCHMAN (with ancestors from Surinam) does something wrong he's called ALLOCHTOON and special mention is made of his Surnimese ancestory (a lot of media and people do this).
If his DUTCH brother (also with ancestors from Surinam) does something RIGHT (like score for Holland) he's DUTCH (and not allowed to mention his Surinamese roots).
As long as people in Holand call 3rd generation immigrants allochtoon (no wonder APARTHEID comes from people with Dutch descent. For the foreigners the Dutch have something called hokjesgeest/verzuiling, we like to catagorise people. Nevertheless there's LESS racism in Holand than say in Belgium, the UK, Germany or France), you can't expect them to feel 100% DUTCH.
My 2 eurocents.

Spot on. That's the problem with this country.
Also Maxima (blond, blue eyes) isn't an allochtoon while people that deviate from this box-mentality, are. I've seen germans (!!!!) here not called allochtoon, but a 4th generation dutch surinam gleefully called one.
Double standards will tear this country. And there are plenty of uneducated power hungry politicians waiting to go over bodies to earn money of it. Further fueling the problem.

I remember a 14 year old (pice of trailer trash $h!t) yelling at a 40 year old Morrocan saying that he isn't Dutch and should go back to his country - while that Morrocan has lived for 30 years in Netherlands. More than twice that kid was alive!
Irony of all is that Netherlands was submerged and everyone here's an immigrant anyway.
Nederlanders moeten hokjesgeest hebben.
