HOW THE f@ck DID MALAGA WIN THIS GAME?!

To say we dominated would be an understatement. We were great, but calling out for a good striker to convert the chances. Dani has never been an out and out front man, so why play him as one? I said Goitom in the summer, Murcia snapped him up. Without Lobos, it is clear we lack goals. Enrique couldn't score to save his life today, neither Lopez, Dani or the rest.

Should Malaga go up this season, I will enjoy them getting absolutely spanked week in week out. Can't manage a shot second half in the Carranza? They're going to struggle a bit in the Camp Nou I would say!

You really shouldn't have sold Sesma in the summer. BTW How have Yago & Gustavo Lopez been?

No but him and De la Cuesta/Cadiz/Valladolid seemed to have agreed something the moment they started looking like certs for the Primera. Shame we lost out, but Sesma is too good to be lost in the mid table of segunda. He has done well at Valladolid so far, pleased for him.

Yago has hardly played all season. I assume it is down to injury. Gustavo Lopez has been used mainly as a substitute but have heard some positive things. Remember, today is only the third match of the season that I have caught, so I'm not in the best decision to give opinion. Today, Lopez gave the Malaga defence problems, but the finish didn't seem to be there just like the rest of them, hit a couple of chances straight at the keeper, although I appreciate he is not a true forward.

The only chance I get a chance to watch Cadiz is when telemadrid show the games. Incidentally, I got your PM, thanks very much, useful information which I hope to use in time. Ale.

    Transfer Window

    Cadiz
    - Bangoura (Boavista)
    - Kosowski (Wisla Krakow).
    Former Southhampton left-winger
    - Natalio (Almeria [Loan]).
A very promising forward who Sevilla have been keeping tabs on.

    Celta
    - Fernando Sales (Free Agent).
I'm pissed of with this signing, because I remember that two seasons ago he rejected us. Now that he's left without a place in the Sevilla team he wants to join us.
    - Luis Garcia (Getafe)
    An awful goalkeeper.
    - Ariel Losada (Audax Italiano)
    A hardworking DM

    Elche
    - Rodri (Castilla)

    Real Sociedad
    - José Luis Martí (Sevilla)
    - Fran Mérida (Arsenal)
    - Morgado (Alavés)

We're also apparently after Josemi and Molinero for the RB position. Doh

IMO it'll be Real Sociedad or Elche. Sporting are the Ipswich of Spain, great start to the season only to fall away at the end.

    Celta Vigo 0 - 0 Sporting Gijon

    Celta Vigo (5-2-1-2)
Esteban, Núñez, Rubén, Peña, Agus, Roberto Lago, Rosada, Michu, Jorge (Quincy, min.78 ), Diego Costa (Okkas, min.66) y Perera (Mario Suárez, min.84)

    Sporting (4-2-3-1)
Roberto, Cámara, Jorge, Gerard (Omar, min.70), Canella, Iván Hernández, Matabuena, Pedro (Sastre, min.83), Diego Castro, Míchel e Hidalgo (Luis Morán, min.88 )

Best match of the season by us, but practically ends our chances of promotion this season. Osasuna's new keeper - Roberto - was amazing, as much as we tried we were unable to beat him.

What do you all think of Elche? Have they ever played in Primera Division and Castellon would be interesting too. When I went to Villarreal a season last season and one before their chants were insulting Castellon. Would be intereting to see reactions if they actually played eachother.

No! to Castellon. Nothing more than long-ball merchants IMO. I like Elche they've got a good manager in David Vidal - got Murcia promoted the last time they went up only to get fired. They play with two tanks upfront, in the form of Miguel and Noel Gifton-Williams, and with nippy wide players. They've also got a very good Argie goalkeeper called Caballero who Arsenal are keeping an eye on.

Big win for Sociedad away to Malaga. Both Sporting and la Real are within a close distance of Malaga now. Should be a real battle for 2nd and 3rd.

went to the game neither team was too good. 2 set pieces decided it. can really see malaga blowing it and i've felt it for some time now. nowt much more to say, they'd both have to do an Almeria and literaaly discard many of the players they have an re-build with a PL team

In terms of squad I don't think they're particularly good. Their strong point has been defence with Goitia in goal and the two brazilian centre-backs.

Things are getting worse and worse for us. We're now on our fourth manager this season. Sad
    - Hristo Stoichkov
    - Juan Ramon Lopez Caro
    - Antonio Lopez

Alejandro Menendez has been promoted from Celta B. Our crowds are now down to 3,000 from 15, 000 at the beginning of the season and we\'re only six points off the relegation places. If there were any fans actually going to the matches we\'d be giving that fat mexican c**t of a chairman a monumental panolada.

malaga are, as i thought, in serious danger of blowing up. If they don't go up word is Lorenzo and Fernando Sanz will pull out, then the club could be in serious trouble. they are hugely in debt already.

having seen some 2nd division football over the last couple of years the standard is pretty poor. went to almeria last season late on, we were all going to back them as certs to be relegated they were that bad. well the coach obviously realised that too, and changed most of the squad for PL.

This is a post on a Malaga board about their current problems:

maurice wrote:After yesterday´s inept performance one has to consider the attitude of the players.

If Malaga CF ever gets promoted it is a known fact that a number of the players of the squad do not have the ability to play in the top flight and therefore would probably be discarded by the club. In light of this the question has to be asked, " Do many of the squad really want promotion?"

If promotion comes then many of the squad could be out of a job and other clubs may not want them. Hence they would down at the employment office looking for alternative employment!!!

The point I am making is that maybe many of the team just do enough to stay near the top and just miss out on promotion.

The above may not be correct, but the question about the current attitude of the players has to be asked.

I thought so too. But I imagine that the glory years of EuroCelta have something to do with that - I can't imagine that the likes of Mostovoi, Karpin, Revivo, McCarthy, Mido & Gustavo Lopez were on small wages.

We've now got a shitload of players who either have their contracts up at the end of the season or will return to their parent clubs following loans who can't be arsed to put in a decent performance. Off the top of my head there's: Mario Costa, Vitolo, Okkas, Jorge, Nunez, Vara, Diesgo Costa & Quincy.
