The battle for promotion to the first division is hotter than ever, in playgrounds and in offices. There is no coincidence that allegations of premiums paid to third parties has been constant in recent weeks and Sporting Gijon and Malaga have not hesitated to accuse Real Sociedad for their alleged financial contributions to their rivals.

The chairman of Malaga, Fernando Sanz, denounced this situation in Punto Radio: "Real Sociedad offered Salamanca 90,000 euros to win against Sporting. Situations are so dirty that they stink. Maybe I should go to court to denounce all these situations which are completely illegal ".

Sanz alluded to information that has been filtered from Gijon and Salamanca, whereby Real Sociedad reached an agreement with Salamanca to pay 90,000 euros to beat Sporting last Saturday. The amount will be doubled if Real Sociedad win promotion. These figures take on a greater significance when one considers that Salamanca has yet to visit Anoeta.

In addition, Sanz added that premiums "have always existed, but not one so brutal and so dirty. One half complaint and you say this is normal and who knows what can be done," I spit.

Fernando also had a memory for referee's actions in Malaga's match against Hercules and again pointed at Real:
"To nullify a goal and award a penalty that never was were hard blows".
After winning 3-1 after 30 minutes and Hercules had at that time 4 men booked, Malaga were coasting to an easy home win at half time, but the match was turned upside down in the second half.
"There is a little help to Sociedad every weekend," Sanz said.

"On Friday there was a meeting of the board of the Federation and I spoke with Badiola to explain how I understand the world of football. It is wrong and can not go on. First I'll say it to their faces and then the best will be given in other steps, " he ended.

Maletines have always been around in Spanish football, so I don't see why he's complaining now.

Malaga and Sporting are currently winning 1-0, while La Real are only drawing 1-1, meaning the first two will be promoted as things stand. 2nd halves still to go.

btw, anyone know where ncfc is? Hasn't been on in a while.

It stayed like that till the end, so Malaga and Sporting join Numancia in the top flight next year.

And I didn't realise it when asking about ncfc earlier...but just noticed that Cadiz have gotten relegated Yikes

Numancia - I still remember their frozen pitch in Soria. Hopefully Ronnie and company didn't break their legs. Only Chelsea pasture in CL 2005/06 could match its quality No

I'm really pleased for Sporting. It's taken them 10 years to return to Primera. I'm hopeful they can stay up as they've got some quality players in Roberto, Diego Castro, Bilic & Kike Mateo. They've also got an excellent youth system with several players getting into the u17, 19, 21 national team.

Numancia are an extremely well run club, bearing in mind the town's population is only 40,000.

In regards to Malaga, I'm indifferent. They've got two good centre-backs but the rest of the team isn't particualrly outstanding.

Real Sociedad as far as I'm concerned could do with another year in Segunda. Their new president, Badiola, thought that by rewarding the oppositions opponents - by paying them bonuses - they'd make it back into the top-flight.

So how do you see their chances of surviving, who is best suited for staying? and what are the prospects for Celta?

unless Malaga do what Almeria did last season, and basically completely re-build then they'll defo go down. the GK is pretty decent, Baha has had some good days, as has Hidalgo but the rest imho are pretty poor incl. the coach
