He is a terrible host, I can't imagine he is any better as a commentator. He will probably be even worse than Motson. Does anyone know if Barnes has much knowledge of Serie A? It could be cringeworthy if we have commentators that don't have a clue about the teams they are talking about.

To todays games then, I think the United-Spurs game is absolutely massive for both clubs, if Spurs lose then the papers will all be talking about Jol's future once more, if United lose then they may be too far behind Chelsea even at this stage in the season.

All is not right at Spurs, that much is obvious, I can't believe the ridiculous excuses Levy is throwing around about why he was in Sevilla this week, he claimed he was there to find out about 'how Sevilla was so effectively run' that is absolutely hilarious.

I think it's ridiculous to think about sacking Jol, he's a great manager and can take Spurs into the top 4 eventually IMO, I think a vast amount of money was wasted on Darren Bent to be honest, they could have and should have spent the money elsewhere but they've got to just keep believing and forget all the stuff in the papers.

If Spurs can get a win today then it will really kick start their season, I can't see it though, United to win it narrowly for me

    Spurs Team News

Gareth Bale and Teemu Tainio are back to face United and Martin Jol hasn't ruled Dimitar Berbatov out of Sunday's trip to Old Trafford.

Gareth and Teemu returned from injury and illness for Wales and Finland respectively on Wednesday - Gareth played 45 minutes as Wales beat Bulgaria 1-0 and Teemu played 75 minutes and scored as Finland beat Kazakhstan.

The down side is that Darren Bent might miss out with the thigh injury that ruled him out of England duty.

Martin said on Thursday afternoon: "Gareth Bale reported back for training today and Teemu is back as well.

"Dimitar still has a bit of a problem with his groin but he might be able to make it and Younes Kaboul (hamstring) is progressing well, better than Michael Dawson, who is still out with his ankle injury.

"Darren Bent has a thigh injury and that could be a problem for the weekend.

"Benoit Assou-Ekotto still out with a swollen knee and both Ledley King (knee) and Aaron (knee) are still out."

United with another small striker is perhaps not the best idea. I thought that was a problem against City. The fact Tevez was small and had no striker supporting him.

Chelsea could have Drogba and Defoe...Arsenal with RVP and Defoe would be great.

Its not that long ago that Chelsea were linked to Defoe for around £20m?

Now he is the 4th choice striker at Spurs.

    Rightfully so.
Its not like there's a case of favouritism, he's just the poorest of the lot.

Kaboul has been progressing well. Jol will probably use him. If Kaboul has been in full training for the week then he will start.

Defoe has it all - bar a lack of awareness/decision making in the final 3rd.

He should leave us - because if he gets a starting place atany decent Prem team (or even abroad - shock horror!) He should get into the England 1st XI (provided they want to carry on with 4-4-2).

His contract is running down anyway.
