I'll settle for that. We probably deserved the win, but we couldn't take our chances and Liverpool had some of their own in the second half. A lot of people said this was our first real test and I think we came through well. We outplayed Liverpool at Anfield and played with confidence. Next week practice hitting open goals!

Now we need to spank the mancs next week to complete my prediction; a draw and a win vs pool and the mancs respectively.

A draw is good enough, glad this game is over. Liverpool should be dissapointed that they didn't win a home game against a rival.

It was a fast paced, enjoyable game to watch though.

Wasnt a perfect performance from us but im fairly pleased. Our passing game couldnt always come off due to the lack of space, but thats expected when we're playing a medfield three of Mascherano, Gerrard and Alonso.

Have you watched any of our last 5 / 6 games? We've been pretty appalling. There's no way we can challenge for anything when we're playing like that, whereas Chelsea have been impressive in their last few games.

Arsenal totally destroyed Liverpool. Liverpool are outrageously $h!t. They have no creativity at all, they didn't even want the ball, they had no idea what to do with it. In they end they just hoofed it as far as possible in hope. Riise has lost the plot completly i used to think he was a decent player.
Arsenal played good stuff and could have scored lots of goals, fabregas is an awesome player.

I can't believe that Benitez can't put out a team that can go out there and play good football. Yes you have a few injuries but you have a big squad of quality players. Chelsea played Cr@p for a 3 or 4 games. It's just a question of getting the system right.

Could have put Alonso and Torres out for a few more games bringing them back too early.

Alonso looked in a very bad way.

Reina - 5.5 One good save, but lucky not to concede less.
Finnan - 6.5 Attacked reasonably well. Some good touches and crosses
Riise - 5 A bit wasteful.
Hyypia - 6 A few good tackles and interceptions
Carragher - 6 See Hyypia
Gerrard - 7 Well taken goal, played pretty well
Alonso - 7 some awesome passes. We've missed this guy
Mascherano - 6.5 some good tackles and passes
Voronin - 4 donkey
Kuyt - 5 worked hard..!
Torres - 1 injured from start

Benayoun - 5.5 did ok when he came on
Crouch - 6 did well
Arbeloa. - 5 A defender in midfield

Anyway, I think 1-1 is a decent result for both teams, they shouldn't be ashamed of a point each. I'd be reasonably happy with a point next week.

We usually dominate games at home and rarely give possession in the manner we did today.

Thats been the case against Arsenal for the past 3 seasons mate

Would have signed for the single point beforehand.

Good match, pity the ref was wearing red underwear (Carragher gets away with murder in his own box, few other ridiculous calls).
