I told you guys Voronin isnt good enough for Liverpool , he is best a 4th choice striker at a big club (though his partnership with Berbatov was awesome) dont get why Rafa plays him in midfield type of role.

Missed the match can someone please do ratings and summarise the main points such as: should Caragher really have been sent off?

Good match, pity the ref was wearing red underwear (Carragher gets away with murder in his own box, few other ridiculous calls).
Disppointed in Arsenal's starting line-up. Ade was shite. Hleb MOTM.
You wanted 4-4-2 im guessing?
Walcott playing off the striker?

You're right Rosy. True, however Rafa had no choice but to roll the dice playing Xabi Alonso. Liverpool had no chance in this game UNLESS Xabi played. It's obvious IT IS XABI'S TEAM. You all witness how Arsenal were destroying Liverpool once Xabi left the game.
Rafa's face was incandescent with rage one minute after Xabi had to come out of the game. You know why with them balls lost all the time. Rafa nearly exploded when Arsenal came THIS CLOSE to scoring the winning goal after "you know who" lost the ball yet again. How long is Xabi out? Liverpool are so SHITE without him! Aint that right LRD!

Don't think he should have been sent off, he just got away with lots of fouls. He could have been booked in the first few minutes for a foul on Adebayor but we didn't even get a freekick. I'll try to do some ratings later.

Re: Liverpool Vs Arsenal
I was sorry to see that Benitez let fear get the worst of him once again by having Liverpool defend so deep after the first 30 minutes. I actually thought Liverpool played quite well in the first half and deserved the lead. Second half was a completely different story. Arsenal weren't amazing by any means but at least they tried to score, something Liverpool showed no interest in.
Once again, I feel that Liverpool are severely lacking in flair players. They desperately need someone like Messi, Ronaldo, Robinho, etc. Players who can decide games with a piece of magic. It's amazing that in their entire squad, Liverpool doesn't have a single player who can dribble. This has to be some kind of record.

I would have played Walcott off the striker. Sometimes our play had a bit of a last season feel over it. 4-5-Ade lacks punch.Hlebadinho wrote:jonathan de guzman wrote:Would have signed for the single point beforehand.

Disppointed with Eduardo not being on the bench either. Was happy with the substitutions though.
Anyway glad with a point, if we would have lost today this weekend would have really sucked footballwise.

Entertaining game..... Gerrard and Crouch were the only Liverpool players in the second half showing any real threat....Mascherano played well his positioning was a bit suspect in the second half.

I actually thought it was the other way around. apart from the first ten minutes in the first half we showed no intent on attacking
The second half we had far far more chances and I was a bit gutted we didn't take one of them before arsenal equalised
Agree on the flair players. babel and pennant simply aren't good enough, kewell is great but never fit and torres seems to be a bit of an injury nightmare as well

Re: Liverpool Vs Arsenal
I agree with COTR, I thought the game was more open in the second half and Liverpool created more chances of their own accord, whereas I thought they were very negative in the first half.
There is no doubt that there is room for improvement in terms of the quality of attacking players at Liverpool. They could significantly strengthen their side with quality attacking flair players on either side of midfield. There is more to it than just throwing more flair players in though. The whole approach needs to be more adventurous and attacking. They went with what should have been an attacking line-up today, but then proceeded to take a cautious approach to the game. I was suprised by just how much we controlled possession today. Even on the few occasions we have got results at Anfield we usually do so through fine individual moments on the break rather than asserting ourselves as we did today.

Liverpool really are $h!t on a stick. WG.
Can't believe we didn't win this. Liverpool had the creative guile of a Conference side, they were there for the taking and we failed
Good to see Liverpool making those huge strides forward this season. Practically out of the CL and in serious danger of not finishing in the top 4 of the league
Makes the people saying that Alonso was better than Cesc in the summer look laughable

Re: Liverpool Vs Arsenal
I think Alonso is the key for Liverpool. He's the one who gets the ball rolling and the only midfielder on show (with the possible exception of Kewell) capable of passing accurately on a regular basis. He and Mascherano are also their best ball retainers by far, so it's a huge blow for them if he has broke his metatarsal.

also add the fact that our main distributor from defence and main outlet up front are all injured and it is easy to see why we are struggling in possession
