how does his record in Holland compare to Kuyt's?
Kuyt scored 83 goals in 122 games for Feyenord.
He's scored 15 goals in 47 games for Liverpool.

I think alves has actually scored MORE than a goal a game for Heerenveen.
Not sure how he'll do in the EPL.
If he gets 7 goals in the next four months he'll have done very well though.

Strangely enough the BBC doesn't mention it at all, they've obviously not done their homework.
I think one of the reasons the Heerenveen - Middlesbrough deal came through at the final minutes is because that way AZ have less time to get an appeal going before the first match is played...

No offence here Deano, but what club would you suggest he should have gone for? none of the 'big 4' wanted him so then he's got to be looking at the next group of good teams, and Portsmouth definately falls into that category. Alot of fans have noted that during his bit of passing to Rory the Lion..Rorys passing and ball control was a bit worse than usual. Many think Dong Gook Lee was in the costume because of this. We'll never know. Its like the Stig on Top Gear.
