Nasri, Benzema and Menez!
As Kimbo would say, if you sign Benzema I'll eat my own head.

If we sign Benzema, you have to post a video of yourself giving a guy a handjob. Pretend you're waving!

A goalkeeper along with a midfielder would be nice.

Seen him score a few from range. Could his signing though spell the end for Hleb?
We now have Hleb/Rosicky/Vela/Walcott/Eboue/Randall with also Eduardo and Diaby who can play wide.
Except Rosicky's always injured, Randall has proven nothing, Eduardo can't play wide (and is injured) and Eboue is a c**t.
I maintain, it is one of the weakest areas of your squad, with a mixture of crocks and youngsters and the only experienced one who isn't injured is incapable of scoring goals.
I agree. I don;t want Walcott to be tied doqwn to one position and i dont really want him playing every game on the wing either, despite the improvements he's made. I'd only be happy with this is Hleb stays, if not, we should look to get Arshavin.

Stop trying to hide your smile Sheff, you are delighted, I can tell.
Remember the last bloke we bought from Marseille?

I don't actually follow French football so I really don't know what to expect of Nasri, although I have of course heard about him being a very talented player. I am glad that we're making a proper signing though and I look forward to seeing how he gets on. If he can have as much success here as Pires we will be extremely fortunate!
I'm glad we are getting some deals done early as well rather than waiting until after Euro 08 for our transfers.
And I will be smiling if this is announced later. Don't want to get my hopes up too much in advance though in case we only announce the other two players today!
Acoording to someone on AM, it's Chantome (a DM) and Coquelin as well. (haven't got a clue about what they're like)BM wrote:Ray Parlour wrote:http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11670_3591228,00.html

Sky are c*nts. All they said was "triple French swoop." Why they gotta give a brother some hope? It's probably just Nasri and a couple of 11 year olds.

WHERE IS THE BLOODY CONFERENCE!? What were your sources?

My sources were rather unreliable it would seem (I just browsed through a couple of Arsenal messageboards and they were all suggesting a press conference at 2 - I didn't think to check my sources!). I guess they got it wrong. Hopefully something will be sealed today though. It would be a pleasant distraction from events in Moscow!

Alive and Kicking wrote:According to Lequipe the deal has been done for a contract of 4 years. They will officiate it tomorrow. This is a very good news for Arsenal. I just hope he'll be able to score more goals than what he did at Marseille. What Arsenal really need is a midfield player that can score 12-16 goals each year, like before with Pires. This latter didn't score much at Marseille. At Arsenal things changed a lot for him. So I hope Wenger can do the same thing like he did with Pires. Nasri can score goals, there's no doubt about that, but he needs (and he knows it) to be a bit more selfish and try to shoot more.
As for Chantome, these are only rumors. I don't really know what to think about him, if he does sign, it could go either way. He is regularly called up for France -21, so maybe he's worth it. Although Paris played really bad this year, he was one of the few to play well.

More the reason why I prefer Ben Arfa to Nasri coz I believe the former could turn out to be a very prolific player in the future and he'd also add a lot of pace and direct running to our team, but Nasri is already a good player who could develop into a great one in the future, so I'm very happy with his signing
