Jaime wrote:I didn't believe you at first but here is the transcript from Calderon's presentation:
But then VDV clarifies:
Im not even sure if this is funny that we are run by people who are sooooooooooooooooooooooooo incompetent it is unreal(no pun intended )
doesnt chance much since we dont play with media puntas in Shusters tactics but Cms which VDV can do aswell. but just like with Snejider it perhaps be best if Shuster changed the tactic so it was more of 4-2-3-1 to get the best out of Snejider/VDV.

I was saying the other day that VDV is the closest thing we will get to signing a Spanish player.

Re: Real Madrid C.F. 2008/09
Im guesing you know Van der Vaart right? well he is an offensive midfielder or a second striker in a way. well Calderon is praising him for being a defensive midfielder who scores goals. i can recall ever seeing Van der Vaart being a Dm. just like when they called Drenteh the new Roberto Carlos only to find out that he was Lm and had no idea how to play Lb. my point is that Calderon is pretty much clueless on everything.Dick Grayson wrote:Super Madrid wrote:And nobody has said he is class. if you dont understand how he is by now i suggest you check his comments on VDV above which says alot about him.Dick Grayson wrote:Jaime wrote:@ Dick

That'll be after they've replaced Ruud with Klaas-Jan
(Ruud won't be playing for Oranje no more)
....and by the way : Dirk isn't an attacker, he's a RB

Re: Real Madrid C.F. 2008/09
Back from London and I must say that little can be derived from the Emirates Cup. I was there for the second day but I was disappointed that Schuster used a b-team for the first half and we didn't have any starting fullbacks for any of the games. A few things of note:
-Salgado is more than finished. His running is as fast as a turtle's and he's become a liability in defense as well. We would do well in paying a team to take him away from us.
-Dudek doesn't seem like such a bad substitute for Casillas after all. He did well last year when he played, and he's continued a good run of form. Since he will only play in Copa games, we shouldn't be worried about him.
-I was pleased with Callejon Bueno, who looks like a gutsy player. I would rather have him over Salgado as RB. He did well as CB as well.
-Baptista played like a complete and utter donkey. If Roma gives us 15 million or above, I'd say we sell him without hesitating.
-Robinho should be kept at all cost.

Has been for quite some time. Unfortunately he's determined to see out his contract of which this is the last year, I think (hope!).

Maybe, but for the wages he's on he was still a bad signing in my book. Would rather give the opportunities to Codina or Adan or Felipe.
-I was pleased with Callejon Bueno, who looks like a gutsy player. I would rather have him over Salgado as RB. He did well as CB as well.
Thought so as well. Would be smart to maybe use him as the backup to Ramos and use Torres as centre back (his natural position).
-Baptista played like a complete and utter donkey. If Roma gives us 15 million or above, I'd say we sell him without hesitating.
Marca say Roma would be take him for 10m. To be honest, now that we have VDV, I'd settle for 10.

Re: Real Madrid C.F. 2008/09

im not so sure about that. if things go well next year and Shuster finds a formation that works well then i cant us going for Ronaldo. perhaps if Ruud is finished at that time which could happen.The-Frank-Tavern wrote:for now, wait til next season!!!!
now if we dont win the Cl next year Calderon will have to do something special because he knows he will have a year for re election and in that case i can easily see that he would pay for Ronaldo.
allthough im opposed to getting Ronaldo any time soon Calderon will be able to get a much better deal next year. he can drage the fee down quite a bit and if man utd refuse Ronaldo will push for it. so it could get real ugly next year.
