No - but dreaming is another story. Villa is one of the players I wanted us to sign all summer. Better to see a portada with el guaje than one with Huntelaar. ok

Aye i've wanted us to sign Diego for ages, but for 9m€ VDV is a risk worth taking IMO. With Midget out and Guti been inconsistent at times, we need a player who can supply the final pass.

Only thing is now Granero will never get a chance at RM.

Theres Midget man and VDV in the pecking order before Granero i'd imagine.

Can't see Bernado playing to Attacking midfielders in his "customised" 4-3-3.

    But i hope your right!

In other news Racing want Javi Garcia or M Torres in return for Garay transferring this season. I thought we only had to pay an additional 1m€.

Not really. If Granero hadn't gone to Getafe and stayed at Real warming bench then you lot wouldn't be hyping him up.

No ones hyped him up tbh, he's not been labelled the next Di Stefano/Zidane etc.

Judging by his performances at Getafe he seems to have great potential and IMO deserves a chance at Real. Which is never going to happen as academy players don't get a chance at Real.

If he hadn't gone to Getafe would you have known he had great potential? NO. So it's better going to a smaller club to play regular football than warm the bench at Real Madriz (who don't give chances to their younger players).

We knew he had a lot of potential. He was one of the best players for Castilla two years ago when they played in segunda and he was outstanding at the U-20 WC last summer. But obviously, he has benefitted from going to Getafe. Just like De la Red did and hopefully he will come back someday.

(who don't give chances to their younger players).

This is unfortunately true. We'd rather give a chance to some unknown Ghanaian or Dutch or Brasilian than a kid from Madrid.

My point is that if he was warming bench at Madriz he wouldn't have progressed. De La Red wouldn't be a European Champion if he was warming the bench at Madrit.

As Real Madrid gear up to meet Eintracht Frankfurt in a pre-season exhibition match, coach Bernd Schuster gave a press conference his thoughts on the upcoming game, as well as some transfer and squad concerns...

Speaking to RealMadrid.com at the Commerzbank-Arena, Schuster held court on several matters pertaining to the blancos, not least that of Rafael van der Vaart.

The Dutchman is set for a return to Germany after leaving Hamburg for Madrid, and it's almost certain that he'll take part against Eintracht Frankfurt.

"It's very likely that he'll play. I am not sure for how long being that we are already thinking about Sunday [Spanish Super Cup]" said Schuster.

He's a great player, we did a great job of incorporating him into the squad from the moment he arrived, he went to Bogota and debuted the best way possible... He's a great player and he had an easy time adjusting."

As for a player who didn't arrive, Schuster gave his thoughts on the Cristiano Ronaldo saga.

He shrugged, "I have focused on my squad, who I have complete faith in. Had he come, great. He didn't, but nothing to worry about. We're still on track to have a successful year."

    Brazilian Woes

Little was said on Robinho, however. The Brazilian has been linked with a move out of Madrid due to his unhappiness with the summer transfer saga involving his "bargaining chip" status in the Ronaldo deal, and his being barred from going to the Olympics with Brazil, ostensibly due to injury.

"I think Robinho looks good. He's been training just like his teammates and with the same happiness which he is known for. End of subject," he growled.

As for Julio Baptista, it is thought that he is on the verge of a switch to Roma, but Schuster was coy about this.

"Am I relying on Julio Baptista? We hope to have everyone play, but Metzelder, Ramos, and De la Red will see their first action and we have to see what state they are in," He said.

"We have to keep a close eye on others because they have played every game. Julio will get playing time in the second half because he is a member of this squad."

    Frankfurt Thoughts

Tonight's friendly is a replay of the famous 1960 European Cup final between the two sides at Hampden Park in Glasgow. That finished 7-3, and while few would anticipate such a mouthwatering contest this time, it remains special in the eyes of Schuster.

"This weekend marks the start of the season for both sides. It's a very important test and it's crucial that we feel good out there heading into the Super Cup," he noted.

"Eintracht are a strong rival and your typical German team. It's a good chance to see what our limitations are and to prepare in order to be in top form at the start of the season.

"Will I use the Super Cup line-up? Similar, but not exactly the same. We already know that Pepe cannot play the Super Cup, but he will start tonight.

"We hope tonight's opponent wants to win, but not by any means necessary. Hopefully nothing will happen and that we all return safe and sound. The Super Cup is an official title and we want to win it. It is extremely important.

"Did I play against Eintracht? I recall a goal I scored from the centre circle against Leverkusen. It was the goal of the month in Germany. We won 4-1."

Are you,Golsud admitting that Real Madrid has produced a youth player with great potential. Yikes

But he is right that it is better to go prove yourself in another club. best way to do that is to meet your old club and spank them. that is why i kind of wanted Granero to be allowed to play against Real last season.
going to Britain is another thing though because Crosas might have problems playing the british style. on the flip side if he has succes in Britain, especially England you can be quite sure that he will get bigger hype then from Spain.
