No really, if i were a Chelsea fan... thats precisely what i'd be thinking...

Did you see before the game how Deco was butt munching Ronaldo, how Lampard was just having a joke on the pitch with Ronaldo?

How none of their players seem to have any real commited urgency? - that with his inability to see the obvious, WINGERS...

Hes a useless shite excuse of a manager, i'm so SO happy.. he did not accept the England job, he looks spineless and lacks any plan B.

I mean why on earth is Kalou not introduced? Lampard has done nothing all game...

    Ale

Deco, Lampard, Ballack, Mikel are all central players. He needs wingers under the team, like Mourinho had Duff and Robben ok

He expects Cole and Boswinga to provide the width, and they're obviously going to get caught out at the back. They really miss Essien's strength and drive in their midfield aswell.

best possible result, they haven't played especially well, but you know that every time United don't get a decision Fergle will think of Rafa.

Good news is, it looks like Evra will be out for a while.

    Fair comment.

I have only been listening to, not watching, the game - have there been any contentious decisions?

Only that perhaps Rooney should have been carded earlier in the first half for persistent dissent... which plausibly could have led to either a red for him, or Fergie hauling his arse off, so perhaps United may not have had a second goal...

In fairness the writing has been on the wall all game with respect to the result, it was more a question of when and how as opposed who...

We need wingers, and a second striker so that we can go for a 4-4-2. The defence isn't a problem, and Cech is doing an 'ok' job in goal, and it's not likely that we're going to get a new keeper.

Also, it'd be ridiculous to sack Scolari, we need to stick with a manger so that we can get some sort of familiarity for the players and that lot.

I think we should see how much we can flog Drogba for, then sign two out and out wingers and someone like Asharvin to play behind Anelka. A midfield of Essien and Lampard/Ballack/Deco (sell one or two of them for cash) would be balanced, and then with 2 wingers we could almost go back to when we dominated with Robben/Duff/Cole/SWP.

    Bad times right now.

he's not even at the game today, clearly lost interest. This is the sort of game you don't miss when you're the owner, unless you've given up.

I think the whole war of words between Ferguson and Benitez has been grossly overstated. Ferguson's comments regarding Liverpool were logical and fair enough (Liverpool fans on here have made Ferguson's point several times already this season - Liverpool haven't been in the title race over the past few seasons, therefore they are going into the unknown in the coming months; and they may have to experience a title race before they can win the title). Benitez's comments in response were perfectly composed (the comparisons with Keegan are ridiculous - Keegan was responding emotionally directly after a match, with our lead in the Premiership already lost, and after Ferguson had accused various other teams and players of cheating to benefit us).

The problem with Benitez's comments (besides from the fact that he's not a particularly good speaker) is that they didn't go far enough - he complained that Ferguson gets away with moaning about referees - he should have made it more explicit that referees sometimes succumb to the pressure Ferguson is repeatedly able to put on them (if they need to succumb in the first place); and that Man Utd players often get away with disrespecting officials on the pitch. If he was going to comment and suffer the complete overreaction by the press (who, eager for a story, have been quick to link him with Keegan, who they regard as mentally unstable) then he should have really had a go at Man Utd and put pressure on them on the pitch.

Chelsea look awful. Ballack is poor; Deco wasted on the left; Bosingwa an average right back; the defence as a whole isn't cohesive; there is no pace in the team; the forwards look isolated no matter who is on the pitch.

Worst performance I've ever seen from drogba.

Terry and A.Cole were woeful for rooney's goal.

Rooney and Fletcher should both have been booked 1st half (disgraceful to not book the latter for a textbook example of a yellow card foul on Deco).

Man U were average and absolutely smashed Chelsea No

Wigan could cause an upset on Wednesday.

    Mourinho won't be too worried.

United absolutely destroyed Chelsea today. Chelsea didn't have a chance in hell in that second half, Drogba was awful, he needs to go to another club I think.

Ronaldo and United's defence were fantastic today, fair play to them. Think Rooney should have had a yellow for dissent in the first half though definately.

This Chelsea side was massively overhyped and over-rated by the media at the start of this season, United are the team to beat as much as I hate saying it, but we can go close I still feel, but only if Rafa plays Keane or Torres, he can't leave both of them out.

That's the best performance Giggs has put in for us in years. Absolutely brilliant.
Nearly every one else played well also. Thought Park, Evra and Rooney were great especially.

Couldn't help but smirk at Ballack after his usual arrogant comments in the paper today, "Liverpool will be our main challengers this season". Like they are Champions or even well out in front in the league. Rolling Eyes He played like a c*nt as well.
