He definitely has more then Giggs, people say Carrick doesnt have pace, but I have seen him tracking quite pacy players back and putting a tackle in, probably about the ball pace, well they arent carriers so they dont have great dribbling pace.

When is Essien back by the way, their next away game is Liverpool, I think Liverpool at the moment would be favourites for that one, but that may also depend on how much adventurous Rafa would be.

He will have great games against teams coming from the middle (if Inter are planning to do that, they would be stupid) as he is a very composed defender.
It is not a surprise that his 2nd good performance comes against Chelsea, his first was against Stoke, coincidence they dont play with wingers(Stoke now have a wing threat in Etherington though).

Good point, most of the game he tucked in to form a 3-man block with Vidic and Evans, while Evra did well in attacking to pin Bosingwa back. And both Giggs and Park helped out immensely on the flanks.

I dont know what was the reason for Chelsea selling Robben, from playing Robben, Duff in the wings to the magic square.

Park was quite good as PSV, no where near that at Utd.

Why is Park underrated - all he does is run a lot. If I was defending against him I'd know the only thing I need to worry about is his energy. Not goal or assist threat.

His off the ball movement is as good as I have seen, if he had the finishing in him, we would be looking at a quality quality player.
Fey, Gomes was superb for PSV too.

Gomes still is superb, now you can all use the eredivisie argument, but both he and Park were a few minutes away of a CL final against Liverpool..

Sure Park was better at Penisv, but every time I see him at utd, he is always decent.

Park is pretty ordinary, his main asset is his workrate, stamina and discipline. Fletcher has improved immensely in the last 18 months or so, before that he was a joke.

Park is a good player..he's got good technique when he dribbles..lots of energy..decent passer. Its his finishing and strength that lets him down. Evetything else is good.

He is underrated...everyone likes to say he's shit when he obviously isnt.

Vidic, what a f@cking defender this guy is...did he even miss one tackle or header all game long? Gary Neville was great too, and I was one of those who had written him off after his feeble attempts at a comeback and Rafael's emergence. The Chelsea midfield and attack were simply not as committed as the Man. Utd. players, who were really fired up by the crowd and went for it all through the 90 mins.

I cannot believe what I've read on here about this game.

Neville and Vidic were good ?

They couldn't possibly have been good or bad as they had nothing to play against.

Drogba wasn't match fit but more worringly for Chelsea he didn't give a shit.

Some perspective needed - this is probably the worst Chelsea performance in the Abramovich era.

The goals they conceded were so basic its unbelievable and Ballack and Lampard never look like they can play together.

As for the Rapist - he dropped a clanger on the halfway line after a couple of minutes and will be found out when he plays against motivated strikers.

Well then more questions for Chelsea Pierre, from a Manchester Unied perspective overall it was a fantastic result. Giggs gave a standout performance and the defence in particular Evans and Vidic were solid. You can only beat what’s put in front of you.
