It's your defence that looks most worrying - don't really fancy Dawson-Huddlestone. Or will it be Dawson-Chimbonda with Zokora at full back?

Why is Bent not playing? Gets left on the bench for the 1st team, now he's left on the bench for the B-team!
Huddlestone normally does a good job at CB.

No you couldn’t and if you say yes than that’s a lie.

Fiorentina team: Frey; Zauri, Gamberini, Dainelli, Pasqual; Montolivo, Melo, Gobbi; Semiolo, Gilardino, Mutu

Ajax team: Stekelenburg; Van der Wiel, Oleguer, Vermaelen, Schilder; Anita, Lindgren, Emanuelson; Kennedy, Suarez, Sulejmani.

Miracles have happened before. There’s some real talent in that Fiorentina team.

No Vargas, no Kuzmanovic? Thats unexpected. No Donadel = Doh = Prandelli, when will you learn???

Semioli + Gobbi means that Fiorentina are playing a traditional 442 with wing power. Interesting. My fear is that Melo+Montolivo in the midfield is too lightweight... who will do the dirty work??

I’m expecting a performance from Oleguer, some of the poor form of late coincided with his absence, then again he has been accused of being a liability. Of all the Barcelona players to sign he had to be the one!

Mutu & Gilardino will tear the defence apart.

Well it hasn't been too bad... went as I expected it to really. For all their possession in the final 3rd, they haven't made Gomes do anything significant. The crowd is weird though. They're practically silent until the ball goes into our box, at which point they up the volume - doesn't seem to matter if there's an actual threat on goal, just if the ball goes anywhere near our box.

Yes, they are. They are like the nearly men of Italian defending. Players who clearly demonstrated the potential, have the talent, but were not tried at international level coz the Azzurri coaches were too scared and went with the old stars rather than create new ones.

Pasqual was brilliant over the last few seasons, specially between 2005-07, so it was a bit surprising that Fiorentina bought Vargas and relegated Pasqual to the bench. If you remember, I had written a lot on this MB about how Lippi was making a mistake by taking Grosso over Pasqual for WC 2006. As things turned out, maybe I was wrong as Grosso was a huge success. But that does not mean that young Pasqual wouldn't have done as much, he is certainly talented.

Gamberini, this guy I really feel sorry for. Donadoni and Lippi's insistance on oldies like Cannavaro and specially Materazzi over the last 3 years has deprived Italy of someone who could be the ideal partner for Chiellini for the NT. Good solid CB, italian old school. Not at the level of Nesta or Baresi, but I would liken him to a Costacurta - but one who did not get the chances at the international stage that Costacurta got.

Shaktar score from another dangerous set-piece conceded by Zokora... making non-existent, Gomes gets beaten by anyone of 4 unattended orange players.

Yeah was until 30-35 I guess, Montolivo should have scored, Mutu is the most potent threat.
Fiorentina doesnt seem to be playing wings, more central and width from fullbacks.
Melo looks like a DLP more then a DM.

Suarez needs a partner in attack, a big strong one eh ....... Huntelaar, Sulejmani didnt get in the game and Kennedy has a good engine.

Seriously Harry can fuck off to Portsmouth or Wigan or whatever unambitious team that is just happy to be in the EPL, if that's the way he honestly sees things, because Spurs are not a club were such an attitude should ever be accepted. Bentley is a waste of space.

I hope that c**t commentating on Five and his mate go the way of Jade Goody.

What a pair of dickheads. It was all Gomes' fault. Rolling Eyes He was supposed to just stand there and concede the goal rather than try and claim it after NO FUCKING SPURS PLAYER BOTHERED TO MARK.
