I see your point though, suprise how these defencies haven't been rectified as such yet though.

I think that's where people get a bit muddled. Just because you move the ball quickly doesn't make you a pace merchant. The only pace merchant you could argue we have at Arsenal is Theo.

If Pirlo is considered a genius, I see no reason for anyone to have a problem with me calling Cesc a genuis. He controls a game, sees and execute passes only a select few can.
MadVillain wrote:Bergkamp was big & strong as well as being incredibly gifted and Arshavin has speed to go with his talent..
You can hardly call Totti weak or a midget. And he used to beat players for fun too.

I've seen it argued elsewhere that Arshavin doesn't have much pace

I don't know who would say that Arshavin is rapid. His fourth goal against Liverpool is evidence of that.

That doesn't mean anything. This is Florentino Perez we're talking about.
The transfer window closes on August 31st. Until then, I think you should not consider that Real Madrid's interest in Ribery has ended.

Bayern won't sell him without a package including Sneijder in return. Sneijder refuses to go to Bayern, hence NO DEAL.
Isn't it time to remove 'Villa deal done' from the title of this thread?

I knew the midget would be a trouble for us. (Still over two months left though.)Effenberg wrote:Bayern won't sell him without a package including Sneijder in return. Sneijder refuses to go to Bayern, hence NO DEAL.
Should be changed to 'Villa deal off'?Effenberg wrote:Isn't it time to remove 'Villa deal done' from the title of this thread?

I think if the board make it crystal clear he's not a part of their plans both Vdv and Sneijder will leave. After all its the WC next year, and if your not registered to play, your not going to the WC.

VDV is still starting for Holland (and playing Godlike) even though he hardly plays for Real, why should he worry ?

Hardly playing and not playing at all are two different things though.

The Villa saga will likely drag on for a bit longer. Valdano has been quoted as saying that they are interested in the player but the price is prohibitive. Meanwhile, Valencia are still in desperate need of cash and Marca are sticking to their story that the deal is done (37m euro plus incentives). It's not official but I wouldn't say he's not going to Madrid either. There is a rumour that Chelsea have offered 48m for Villa. I think Valencia are maybe trying to get a little more out of Madrid but I think in our favour is the fact that Villa would really rather stay in Spain. So we'll see how it works out. Marca and AS were both publishing that Kaka was signed but it took another week before everything was official.

I don't know if the full 96m will go to Man. Utd. or whether the price Marca mention includes the 10m euros that his agent will supposedly get for negotiating the deal

What would Andorra look like with Ribery on the pitch though?
And I assume they'd also use the rest of the cash to keep Tevez away from City.

I'm sure that over a period of time, 96M would be generated from marketing Ronaldo. The bigger issue at hand is whether the 96M prevents us from filling in our other needs in other positions.
