It's much more than shirt sales. Tv deals, sponsorship deals (remember that Madrid will keep 50% of their image rights), etc.

The guy who said it is an expert who publishes reports on the economics of football every year and he's very well respected. Forgot his name though. He was in CNN World Sport about an hour ago.

I don't know if this entirely true or not. Last week Balague was a guest on SSN discussing the Kaka transfer, he mentioned that Perez in his previous spell as president negotiated two or three friendlies against Japanese clubs that raked in £15-£20m alone on the back of the galactico brand name.

Very interesting business model.
