So that makes Real's spending past 200 m.
They said they will spend like 3 summers, even for most big teams 30 m is max they spend on average in 5 summers, so that is like 7 transfer windows worth.

i rate Aguero has a more gifted player than Benzema and Aguero is different to Tevez but i still feel we need a Benzema type of player more.

Well what the fuck is happening with Berbatov? Are you just going to write him off as a flop now?
I'm sorry but thats £30m flushed down the toilet in a sense, if you don't consider him a vital first teamer now
IMO you need a SS to play on the other side of Berbatov (to rooney) and you'll be sorted and both Aguero and Pato could do that.

It looks like MU will play with a 4-4-2 next year.
Probably with Berba and Rooney heading the attack, so are they really going to spend £30m on a striker?

i was going to make the same point as DS, Berbatov could play as a SS. Benzema is quicker than Berbatov. make use of Berbatovs creative side.

Berbatov wouldn't work as a SS in a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 though because he's paceless!
He'd work as one in a 4-4-2 alongside a pacy point striker but where would that leave Rooney?

---Rooney---------Berba----------Nani/Valencia
Without Ronaldo, Rooney doesnt need to be defensive, and in the middle we will have a player who has got creativity and who will retain the ball, on the right a pacy outlet.

So basically they'll fuck him over.
He's no left winger. It kinda worked in the 4-3-3/4-5-1 but playing left wing in a 4-4-2 is completely different.

Sky only follow the Spanish Press. I.e. Marca.
Nothing offical I'd rather sign Villa and Benzema, but that doesnt look likely....

Benzema's agent, Karim Djaziri, has told French radio that a deal has been agreed between the two clubs and that only personal terms and a medical need to be completed to see the move go through.
Sky Sports.
Looks like it's actually going to happen.

That midfield would get raped by decent teams.
If you play a trio of Valencia-Carrick-Anderson in midfield this season you can wave any chance of the title goodbye

like last season, Rooney, Berbatov and Tevez rarely started a game together.
SAF would rotate the team and agaisnt a big team Fletcher would be in CM.

Benzema is an out and out centre forward, where as Aguero and Pato are second strikers. At Real there are plenty of SS's we really need a CF.
coming back to this...
Pato and Aguero have BETTER scoring records than Benzema (over the last two seasons).
And that's play as second strikers AND in better quality leagues
so...

Rooney should be played as a SS If ManU want to get the best out of him, and I think he has recently expressed his desire to be given that role. Therefore they should be looking at players who can play slightly ahead of him, and Benzema is better in that position than both Aguero and Pato IMO.
Also from a tactical point of view, Benzema increases your tactical option in comparison to the other two; It doesn't matter whether u play him on his own upfront or alongside a partner, he can be just as devastating(he can even be effective from the wing in a 4-3-3 a la Henry even though he doesn't like playing there), whilst someone like Aguero is only really that effective when u partner him with someone else, he's more of a 4-4-2 player. I'd say the same about Pato to a lesser extent. Even though he's played as the furthest player forward in a 4-3-2-1, I doubt he'll be effective in that role in the premiership.
And given his size, strengths, pace etc I'd say Benzema's more of a PL player than the other two.
I hope ManU don't get him. I expect a Torres like improvement in him in the next 24 months.

Bingo.
And Ligue 1 is a high-quality defensive league, Bundesliga or ErieDivisie it ain't.
Most forwards who've joined the EPL from France normally replicate their rate of scoring anyway.

Benzemas scoring record doesn't exactly surprise me when you see how many goals that are generally scored in France. It is a very negative league with highly talented players. Think it would be a mistake by Man Utd going for Aguero unless they want a new Tevez-Rooney like combo. Benzema would have been perfect really but you can thank Valencia for this.

A move to MU and the EPL would be the best choice for Benzema. At United he will develop a lot faster and more so the leauge suits him totally; pace and power.
He's already a clinical finisher he would be a big hit in the EPL.

That is true but I think he seems to me like the type that would fit all 3 top leagues. He is a Real Madrid fan so im fine with it. I would have loved Villa but Benzema is fine aswell since he is a little bigger so we have somebody top cross to.TM wrote:Tbh.

Exactly but he's expressed numerous times to play in La Liga over the EPL. And as Agooner mentioned he is like a Torres play in the sense that his attributes suit the league but he also has very impressive technique and wouldn't look out of place in La Liga.
A partnership of him and Higuian would work a treat but maybe it's wishful thinking with the players you've already bought
