Some one told me Torres best mates at Liverpool are Arbeloa and Alonso.

Krisztian Nemeth hopes his two goals against Singapore will reignite his Liverpool career after an injury hit 2008-09.
The 20-year-old striker was the star player in our title-winning reserve team of 2007-08 - but last season was spent largely on the sidelines.

Now, after capping off two weeks away with the first team with a brace on Sunday, Nemeth hopes 2009-10 will prove his breakthrough season at Anfield.

"Last year I was injured - I hope this year will be better," Nemeth told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"I am young and I have been learning every day out here. The Singapore game was very good after two weeks' hard work. Every day we've had two training sessions - it's been really hard.

"But we showed in this game that we are getting fit. We enjoyed it.

"Dirk gave me two very good passes and I was happy to score. I'm happy, I've enjoyed myself and the fans in Asia have been unbelievable."

    ok

he wore the number 7 shirt for the Asia tour, I think Rafa should give it to him (the number 7 shirt) next season and throw in half a dozen starts to see how he gets on.

Fernando Torres has warned Liverpool not to sell compatriot Xabi Alonso.

Real Madrid continue to track the central midfielder, who is keen to return to his homeland.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez insists he wants Alonso to stay, but Real are continuing to push for a deal.

They have already agreed terms to land Alvaro Arbeloa, and Torres is just hoping that Alonso does not follow him to the Santiago Bernabeu.

"It would be a bad piece of work if Xabi left," Torres told The Sun.

"He plays his cards close to his chest so I don't know what is going to happen.

"I'd put Xabi's own wishes ahead of everything else, of course, but he's got three years left on his contract with us and I'd love it if he stays.

"It would be a serious loss for Liverpool if he left this summer."

Arbeloa, who is set to finalise his move to Madrid, confirmed that Alonso had made his feelings known to Benitez.

"Xabi and I shared a room on tour and explained our situations to Benitez and he made us clear on the club's standpoint," he added.

Alvaro Arbeloa's move to Real Madrid has moved a step closer after the defender passed a routine medical with the Spanish giants.

Liverpool have agreed a £3.5million fee with the capital club, as the 26-year-old finalises his move to Europe's heaviest summer spenders.

Arbeloa successfully completed various medical tests at the Hospital Sanitas La Moraleja and is now all set to put the final touches on a dream return to the club with whom he started his career.

Madrid's medical chief Carlos Diez told his club's website: "He (Arbeloa) has undergone a standard examination and the results of all the tests are very satisfactory.

"He is delighted to be able to play for Real Madrid, which has been his lifelong dream. He's looking forward to joining his team-mates."

After leaving the hospital, Arbeloa is to travel to the club's Bernabeu stadium to sign his five-year contract.

The Spain international, who was part of last summer's successful Euro 2008-winning squad, was on Madrid's books as a youngster before moving to Deportivo La Coruna in 2006, and then onto Liverpool six months later.

Liverpool defender Andrea Dossena's proposed move to Napoli has been delayed due to the player's wage demands.
The Reds have accepted a £4million offer for the Italy international, who failed to make an impact in his debut campaign in England.

Napoli sporting director Pierpaolo Marino insists there will be further talks with the full-back, but his £2million-a-year salary at Anfield is a problem.

Marino said: "Dossena? We have taken a break in order to reflect on this. The move is therefore on hold.

"There are no immediate prospects. The president [Aurelio De Laurentiis] has spoken to [Rafa] Benitez, but there is some distance with the player."

and some other games too, a good goal but it made not difference in the end.

you have to question Rafa's scouting (again).

it was clear to everyone that his best position is at wingback/Left midfield and not left back.

I wonder if it's true or just based on the story in Marca today.

Alternatively, Marca could be the ones copying the Echo. They even helpfully offered their readers a definition of "transfer request" Laughing
