pizarro to bayern, if its true who knows

hes old, maybe 1-2 years too old, but good enough for the bench, he also adds some link up game upfront, good for the league to break down parking the bus sides

with dante and pizarro we would have nice squad

i think this squad lacks an özil/götze/this belgium guy type, we need more creativity from the middle to break down defensive sides, especially for the league, is shaqiri such a type? i don`t know

also a backup for kroos-schweini would be nice, a nice complete midielder, Can gets a contract, but hes very young

    possible squad for next season

    -------------neuer

    lahm-boa--bad--alaba

    ----gustavo--schweini

    robben--kroos--ribery

    -----gomez

    ----------xxxxx

    rafinha--dante-buyten-contento

    ------tymo--can

    shaqiri--müller----xxx

    ------pizarro

Shaqiri going to Bayern? Excellent move, really rate him... so does that mean one of Ribery or Robben are likely to be sold? I think Shaqiri can play either wing, though I see him more effective on the right, cutting in to favor his stronger left boot.

Bayern don't want to sell Robben or even Ribery and most likely won't either.

He'll be vital against Madrid on Wednesday. Schweinsteiger still looked a bit rusty against us this weekend, but improved during the match and gained some valuable match practice I guess. For Bayern to stand a chance, both Kroos and Schweinsteiger need to be at their sharpest, and Gustavo has to contain Özil as much as possible. Bayern need to win the central midfield battle. While they did in Munich a week ago, Khedira and Alonso looked much better against Barcelona on Saturday, as did Madrid's fullbacks.

Bayern's strength on the wings will be of no use if Madrid boss the centre. Should be a very interesting match on many levels.

Knew that it would be vital for Kroos to play well. It will be just as vital in the final, especially with Gustavo missing.

It's great to see the kid finally realising his potential this season. Ever since he took that U17 WC by storm and won the best player award, you knew that he was a very very special player in the making. Fortunately for German football, he is nowhere near his peak yet and will continue to grow into that role.

If Bayern and Germany can make a Schweinsteiger - Kroos central midfield work, Khedira and others will find it very difficult to start a game for the national team. On paper at least, the prospect of having this kind of midfield on song is mind blowing:

    ---------Schweinsteiger---------------------------
    --------------------------Kroos-----------------------
    Müller-------------Özil-----------------------Götze

Or Reus on either wing, Poldi on the left, Schürrle etc., you name them.

for me there has always a "destroyer" to play, gustavo for bayern and khedira or the bender twins for germany

germany and bayern, both are individually so good, they will always create something, its not worth to risk it, especially not in the knockout stages

this can be a wonderful partnership against the lesser teams, maybe in 2-3 years germany is ready for kroos-schweini, then will the likes of özil, götze, kroos even more dominant

The key is for Schweinsteiger to become more of a 'destroyer', or to put it differently, to be more disciplined tactically and accept the fact that he isn't running the show on his own anymore. Basically, Schweinsteiger would have to accept to become our Busquets and leave the Xavi role to Kroos, to put it in the oh so popular Barcelona terms. I think that it can work and that it is a matter of tinkering and fine tuning.

If it could make to work, it would give us a hell of an advantage in midfield. That kind of midfield on song could simply not be outplayed or even outpassed by anyone. It would give us a much better chance against the Spaniards and probably reduce their possession stats below the 60% mark, giving us more of the ball to create something and take pressure from our defence.

As much as like Sami, Schweinsteiger can do everything Khedira does and more. It's basically up to Kroos to do everything Schweinsteiger does in his current role and more. I think he can do it. That 'more' would be that extra bit of quality I think is worth the risk.

agree, but can kroos do what schweini does? i doubt it, not in the defence, at least not yet; thats why i think right now khedira-schweini has to play, lets play it safe until our young midfielders take the next spep in there evolution

i thought the same way like you until we lost to france, this opened me the eyes, there will always be smart teams out there, and you just win trophys with a solid midfield and defence, as bayern showed it this year

As I've said, it needs to made to work first. Of course it would be a huge risk just to play them without having gelled properly first. But I do think that it can be made to work.

Making it work actually implies that it doesn't expose our defence. On the contrary, I want increased defensive stability through better passing in midfield and more control. We'll also need defenders who are very comfortable on the ball for it to work. Badstuber earned his starting spot for Germany IMHO, so it's a Hummels - Badstuber central defence for me.

P.S.: Özil's much improved defensive game is another factor btw. It will help our midfield tremendously and make a Schweini- Kroos central midfield more feasible.

ok let it work out, but after the euros Neutral

another point, germany plays a little different style to bayern

i think germany is not that good in keeping the ball, löw prefers more the real madrid style, more direct, though we have improved in this area, but its not bayern level, its surely helpful that 8 bayern players are germans

    özil is a good point

But that's not because Germany can't play like that and put more emphasis on possession, it's because Löw doesn't want them to, at least not to such degree. However, as the experimenting with the 4-1-4-1 system has shown, Löw has clearly been evolving our game and changed his approach of (preferably) creating goal scoring chances in less than 10 seconds by moving the ball quickly up front (on the ground). During the qualification and especially in the friendlies, Germany's game has been a lot more patient than it was in the WC 2010, for instance.

Germany have the players to create a truly dominant team with and without the ball. Not by emulating the Spanish way, but creating their own style that is the best of both worlds, passing football and directness.

Alaba is a product of the Bayern youth, 19 year Austrian international, won Austrian player of the year award just recently.

The ironic thing is that Alaba was actually brought up as a midfielder, and still plays there for the national team if I'm not mistaken. When things weren't going Bayern's way (lack of form, injuries etc.), Heynckes decided to try him on the left back position and he has been a revelation there. Great prospect indeed, and what impressed me most was his strong character, knowing that he'd miss the final because of that rather harsh penalty decision, but giving his best for the team and serving Robben a sitter on the plate right after. Not to mention his excellently taken penalty later on.

    Ale to the Ösi bua...

Lars Bender should be the short-term answer to the 'defensive midfielder' problem... he's better than Khedira in linking up play / going forward, and disciplined enough defensively to do the other side of his job as well... also he is a much better goalscorer than Khedira, which is an added bonus.

Agree on Lars Bender. Captain of the U19 Euro winning Germany team, slightly more talented than his twin brother playing for Dortmund and finally establishing himself as a starter in Leverkusen this year, playing a very good season. Potentially, he has everything to become a monster of a central midfielder in the mould of Sammer. The right character and mentality, too.
