looks like alex is now bayerns main target

i would love this guy, he has experience and is proven class

boateng is injury prone, has nothing reached so far, we should get him in some years

i would love to have a german CB pair, but in terms of success i would prefer alex

    Heynckes raves about PETERSEN

he seems to agree with my original assessment that the 2nd league signing would be a megahit Ale

    -----

    for our friend kroos

being an ardent Bayern fan and Munich based

YOU really should check out the PUBLIC pre-season training sessions at Säbener Strasse

almost every day, including the Sunday, is an OPEN DAY

and it's by far the BEST time in the year to attend

because all the players still try to impress and clinch a spot in the starting 11

now that Bayern have a NEW coach, it's even more interesting

    Petersen, Olic, Kroos, Tymo, Gustavo...

are ALL fighting for their lives now

check out the Bayern website and go to "Termine"

they list the times and days

Think Bayern have a very strong squad now. As good as any in Europe outside of Barca/Madrid.

Do question the signing of Rafinha though. Think he's rather average.

    Still possibly a CB short?

personally don't see how Boateng will improve bayerns rather shit defense, then again he can be no worse than what it has been for the past two seasons

Apparently, Boateng was sensational at CB for the U21. Most of us have only seen him play out of position and he's been ok there too. I read that coaches tend to not trust him in central defense because his movements seem less coordinated. According to Sammer, coaches need to get to know him and trust him, then he'll be the perfect central defender. Hope he's right and that Neuer/Boateng/Badstuber have the time to develop some chemistry.

Good for Boateng, good for Bayern, good for Germany.

P.S.: I watched every U21 Euro match and he was indeed brilliant in the central defence. He and Höwedes (not Hummels btw., who only played in the final as DM) were outstanding in the central defence. Germany won the tournament conceding just one goal.

You really needed to invest in the defence. If that wasn't totally obvious last season, it's more than obvious now. Better hope that Boateng manages to establish himself quickly.

The friendly against Milan right now sums up Bayern these days. Dominance, good football at times, but Milan score and can easily overcome the defence, creating the more dangerous chances with the little possession they have.

Kroos with a good finish, his weaker left foot even. 1-1

Glad for the kid, hope he uses his chance and manages to establish himself as a starter now that Ribery is injured.

Kroos almost scored another one. Abbiati with some good saves tonight.

Gomez has really improved his all-round game. Looks so much more complete now than he did in his Stuttgart days, now an excellent choice for the single striker position. Klose will need to do extremely well to keep his starting spot in the NT.

Rafinha looks like an excellent buy. Not only looking good himself, one of your best tonight, but also because it means that Lahm plays on the left, and he does really well, too. A lot more dynamic going forward than on the right. Bayern now have more genuine width, looking less predictable. Will of course have consequences for the NT, too.

Bayern are all over Milan now. Big chances galore.

Bayern win the penalties against Milan, a match they should have won clearly. Way too wasteful, still fragile at the back often. Some work to do for Heynckes.

    Bayern - Barca final.

Yes, yes. I understand that. Germans are immortals when it comes to penalties, we re all aware of it. However, they are subject to the same rules as everyone else.

In all seriousness, had that not been a friendly you would have expected the ref to make him take it again. Although, saying that, c**t Ronaldo has made a career of pushing the boundaries by stop/start run ups and rarely got penalised for it. Used to wind me up big time. Best retribution was when he tried it in the CL final against Chelsea and fucked it. Keepers should stay on their line and takers should have a fluid non stuttering / feigning run up. Anything else is against the laws of the game and cheating in my eyes.

Have to disagree with that, Gustavo looked pretty good IMHO.

It's a pretty even and interesting match actually, a match Bayern don't really deserve to lose. But their wastefulness has cost them once again.

That said, one brilliant goal by Thiago right now, awesome stuff!

    Bayern - Barca 0-2 FT

Thiago's goals decide the match, the second one was brilliant in particular. Kid looks like the real deal.

Bayern still have a lot of work to do, especially in the defence. And they need to be more efficient, otherwise they won't succeed on the highest level.

Gustavo was better in the second half, but his movement of the ball is pathetic most of the time... he's a lot better defensively, I'll give him that, but I don't think any other Bayern player gave the ball away as much as he did, and, against Barcelona, that's even more of an indictment. Pranjic and Contento were also pretty bad... Pedro was absent.

Thiago was indeed man of the match, even without those two great goals... don't really see why they need Fabregas when they have him who is already in fine form.

Gustavo is an excellent ball winner, ideal for the position behind Schweini in the central midfield, where Tymo usually starts, not a distributor. But that's not his main job anyway.

The positive thing for Bayern tonight was that they managed to keep Barca's possession stats on healthy levels for most of the match. They actually played a decent passing game themselves at times, looked good often but lacked cutting edge. Efficiency is one major area where they need to work on.

Ribéry and Robben on both wings would have worked wonders in this game.

And regarding Gustavo, yeah, so long as he gives Schweinsteiger the ball as soon as possible, he's all good, hehe...

He had a pretty good preparation indeed, looked good in the central attacking position behind the striker (4-2-3-1), the Özil position in the NT.

Müller looked great on the right wing position in the Pokal btw., Robben's position at Bayern and his usual position in the NT. Seem's like Löw was spot on, Müller prefers to play there himself.

Kroos establishing himself on the CAM position at his club only increases the pressure on Podolski in the NT, as this means another option for Löw. Özil could always move to the left side, if necessary, and he is and will remain one of the few guaranteed starters.

    sounds good

shame that one of kroos/müller will be benched when robbery is fit

for me the best position for kroos is the schweini position, talent wise he shits on schweini any given day

but for now i hope jupp will play with 3 real midfielders, would give bayern much more compactness in midfield

i read that it worked wonderful against braunschweig, but of course its just braunschweig Very Happy
