Martin Aguilar one of the Malaga higher ups has confirmed that Real Madrid have inquired about Isco but that so far there has not been an official bid. He said that Madrid were "very interested" and that the price was his buyout clause (€35m) plus tip. Laughing

Also, Cavani's agent came out and said that there was a meeting with Real Madrid officials scheduled for last week that was postponed but is now rescheduled for next week. It sounds like Juve will buy Higuain for €20m and that will, in part, fund the Cavani transfer.

Last bit of gossip - it seems like Heynckes to Real Madrid is starting to pick up more steam. According to reports the arabs insistence that Florentino pay a buyout for Ancelotti is deterring him and that with Heynckes being available for free at the end of the season may swing things back in favour of the German. Whenever we sign a German we win a title so... Whoop

What a cheapskate. Ancelotti has a contract. His employers are entitled to compensation for it to be broken. If Florentino wants Carlo, pay the buyout. Such tightness may well result in a subsidiary curse for next season.

    A couple of other notes:

*Dani Carvajal who made Bild's XI of the season for the Bundesliga will be returning. He will cost €6,5m to come back which is €1,5 more than what Leverkusen paid for him last summer although there is a possibility that fee could be waived if we give them Jese with a similar buy-back clause.

*Real Madrid are going to make Casemiro, who was on loan with Castilla, a permanent signing for a fee of €6m. At the beginning Toril wasn't even picking him but he has been more involved in the more recent Castilla matches. I guess maybe he needed some time to adapt. He only played the one game for the first team. He seemed ok but nothing special. He is pretty good in the air, that much I'll say. He can't be worse than Khedira! Laughing

If we get Cavani I don't care if Ancelotti, Heynckes or anybody else comes. Although I wouldn't mind if we wander into Heynckes by way of cheapness.

Buying Isco makes no sense at all. He is way too good to be on the bench and there is no obvious spot for him. He can surely compete with Ozil but it is way excessive to get Isco. Borja Valero is the sensible choice with his versatility and price.

Based on everything that's being written I don't think it's certain that Ozil will stay. I don't think it's certain anyone will stay apart from Sergio Ramos, Varane, Alonso, and Casillas.

But back to Cavani, Corriere dello Sport is saying we are the favourites to land Cavani which is the first time I've heard that. Seems like everyone including Balague is pretty sure he is going to City. I guess we'll see.

This seems like a bonehead transfer. Ozil has experience for both Germany and Real Madrid in Cl at the highest level. Isco is good player with a nice talent but he doesn't striker me as a potential world beater. He has a good shot in him and he doesn't strike me as being lazy like Ozil but apart from that Ozil is better than him in every department. Smells like Spanish hype from Senor Perez. Erm

We should be thinking of getting our primary striker first before we dabble with transfers like this.

lol! You haven't got a clue. I would have more respect for you if you just told the truth and admit you don't like him because he's short and Spanish.

Isco will bench Ozil. You can quote me on that.

    Super Mourinho - 2009 :

"No it isn't because I like too see more open games and teams that try to play their own style instead of looking too much into who they are meeting. So im happy that we had some more positive games in this round allthough I have feeling it might not continue through the second leg and the semis but I can hope."

Jose Angel Sanchez already traveled to Naples so Cavani is under way as well. I think it makes sense to try and tie up both of these players because once the electoral process begins we won't be able to buy players until after June 16. And at that point maybe it's too late because Man City or Monaco or whoever will have already been snapping players up.

I don't think anyone is saying Isco has to replace Ozil for sure but I think we can all agree that there are a lot of games in the season and Ozil, while talented, has been inconsistent during his three years. So at the very least we need to bring someone that can challenge him for his place and push him to be better; for me that is a good thing. Because we know Kaka does f*ck all and hopefully he will be sold this summer. So I think of it being more like Isco coming to replace Kaka. He is four years younger than Ozil so he is as much for the future as he is for the present. And additionally Isco actually can play on the wings as well. But like worms says, I wouldn't be surprised if Isco doesn't have a good chance to win the job because unlike Ozil he plays with big balls.

More details on the Isco transfer. Initially Malaga's stance was pay the buyout of 35m. It's such a shame nobody listens to me when I wanted us to buy him last summer because after his great start Malaga gave him a new contract which raised the buy out from 15m to 35m. Grr But anyhow, Malaga have to sell players there is no way around it so I think Madrid know at the end of the day they will probably negotiate. Madrid's first offer was 20m + Callejon. Malaga countered with 20m + Morata. I think as long as Madrid can work in a buy back option on Morata I am fine with this deal because Morata needs to play and if we are all honest Madrid are never going to not have a super star striker. So if Morata can go and prove what he can do, hopefully he could return in a couple of years.

He does indeed, Isco might be a midget but he has big balls!(No homo) cheers Unlike Ozil who just has big eyeballs. <Ale> Biggrin

Watch the Dortmund vs Malaga 2nd leg game again, look how well Isco defended on the left flank. Positional sense and very good work-rate and provided a crucial pass on the counter attack for the 2nd goal. I think Isco has slightly better control than Ozil in tight spaces and unlike Ozil can strike a ball from range and has scored more from outside the box this season than Ozil has in his career(Might be an exaggeration but wouldn't be surprise if true).

    Plus Isco is Spanish. cheers

Who cares if Isco is young, if you are good enough you can play.

Really? Fuck, I thought Isco was only about 5 foot 8, and Ozil 5 foot 10 or 11.

Good news though, I have proof that Isco is better technically than Ozil:

    http://pesstatsdatabase.com/viewtopic.php?f=154&t=3314&start=200

    http://pesstatsdatabase.com/viewtopic.php?t=20620

    -------Technique (Ball control)------------Dribbling accuracy

    Ozil---------93----------------------------------88

    Isco---------95-----------------------------------94

    cheers

Those are probably the easiest things to rate as well. It's so obvious that Isco has better close control than Ozil, Super Mourinho must be biased to think otherwise. Isco is just as good a passer IMO and has the potential to become better, but on PES stats it can take time for younger players to get rated properly in every area.

Ozil is a very good player but Isco has the potential to be a special one, people who can't see that are either blind or German.

How can anybody watch this video and not see Isco has much closer control when dribbling with the ball than Ozil or Gotze ? Especially Ozil. He reminds me of Iniesta the way he dribbles with the ball, the way he just glides with it.

As if dribbiling and a players first touch aren't some of the most important attributes. Rolling Eyes He is excellent at everything else too, but his close control is what really stands out as he is up their with the elite when it comes to this. (Close to Iniesta etc).

A 35M back up for Ozil Yikes
We don't need a player for the future when we have Ozil who is only 24. Not to mention that Ozil is a bigger talent in every way than Isco. Isco has a better attitude and a better shot but aside from that I can't think of how he will become better than Ozil. Ozil's passing, dribbling, and his technique is better.

If we want him we should definitely give them Morata in the deal. They are idiots if they think he would lower the price to 20M. Laugh We can throw Albiol in there while we are at it. That way we don't ruin the balance with too many Spanish players either.

Ozil at the present level is much better than Isco. This transfer doesn't make any sense. It seems to me that Perez is trying to placate the Spanish crowd who have already pushed out Mourinho and spat on the Portuguese players. I'm all for replacing Ozil with somebody like Silva or Mata but there simply aren't that many Am's out there we can get at the moment. So we should stick with trying to improve Ozil and he is continues being inconsistent then we have get splash some crash next season.

Lol at Ozil having better technique and dribbling. How biased can you get?

If you don't like Spanish players you are not a Real Madrid supporter, idiot.

Also I love the way he tried to make out it was the "Spanish Crowd " that pushed Mourinho out and not Mourinho himself with his poisonous attitude, failure to get to the CL Final, build a proper team or challenge for the title consistently that pushed himself out.

Haven't you seen the PES stats????? Grr

Having better technique or passing or whatever counts for nothing if you go hiding when it counts. Seriously, you have spent the entire season saying how we can't count on Ozil and now that we might buy Isco suddenly he is a WPOTY who couldn't be replaced? You can say go get Mata or Silva but they are already in big clubs. If we had Silva or given Mata a try while we had the chance (a.k.a. WHEN I TOLD EVERYONE THEY WOULD BE AWESOME!!!!!) we wouldn't be in this predicament. Plus you didn't have a problem when we bought a 30m euro "backup" for Marcelo. But in the end he became the starter. And he was a Portuguese so naturally you didn't have a problem
