They'd have a fair chance of doing it, and staying there for the rest of the season if it weren't for the fact the Jermaine Defoe will now be suspended for 3 games.

Instead they'll have to bring in goal-shy Peter Crouch or wantaway Hilary Pavlychenko

If this is true and the 10 year wait for a left winger is ended in January, then I will put my hat on Tottenham finishing in the top 4 this season, and closer to 1st than to 5th.

Except having Vicente is like not having a LW at all. He's almost never consistently fit, which is disappointing because he's a brilliant player.

He wasn't affective for Monaco. Only featured a hand full of games, and I thought he was wasteful. Didn't see enough of him to really say too much, but I expected him to atleast find the back of the net or assist a bit and I didn't really see him do much in France.

Wouldn't be a bad addition to the midfield though, he would def add depth on the bench as well. Overall not a bad transfer, don't really like how Spurs handle themselves in the tranfer window though. All the drama just seems to be too much.

Not sure it'll be a good signing. He hasn't been playing regularly for over 3 seasons now, so I'm not sure if he's physically sharp enough to make an impact.

I think Gudjohnsen offers a lot to Spurs and if he continues on to perform like he did at the weekend then he could be a vital signing. I think it could now be a straight shoot-out between Spurs and Man City to finish in the Premier League top four, Liverpool could be out after their latest defeat and Villa lost valuable points only drawing with Wolves.
