Essien-Mikel-Ramires trying to create play (esp. with Ramires popping up on the right wing) is like a blind man trying to judge art

COTR wrote:My point is that Gerrard has played either as many (or fewer league games) for you as Milito, Sneijder and Eto'o have played for Inter yet you keep popping up in the Benitez threads informing us of how Benitez has been affected badly by injuries.
Inter have had a major injury crisis throughout their entire team. Surely to god you aren't comparing that with us losing Gerrard for a game or two. I'm sure you can guess my views on Carragher's injury. Roy has been able to pick his strongest side, or something approaching it more often than not this season.
Overlooking this contradiction, he's played 9 times this season. Given how injury prone he is, that's better than most would have predicted (certainly after reading your comment).
Your first point was that he hasn't really had Agger available to him, now you are saying this ?
As I said Roy has been playing Agger as a left back, picking Carragher and Skrtel over him so his injury hasn't really impacted on Roy, especially considering Soto has been our best defender this season when he has played. I've no idea if Roy will keep Agger on the bench when he returns.
Joe Cole was being lauded by Liverpool fans on here at the start of the season. We were all informed about what a key player he would be this season. Sadly for him, he's spent a lot of it on the treatment, leaving Hodgson without one of his key players for large periods.
I also thought Cole would be a key player for us but in his 12 games so far he is yet to have any meaningful positive impact on a game. Maxi has taken his place on merit.
Gerrard has played fewer Premier League games than any of Inter's key attacking players.
I'm saying that Agger has missed a large part of this season. You first of all said that Roy was never picking Agger, then you said he was being played at left back.
Cole has had injury problems since joining. This might explain why he's not had the impact many were expecting him to have.

Another poor performance from us. Malouda and Kalou have decided that they can't be bothered to track back today, meaning that Bale and Lennon are getting forward at will. Do they think they're playing for Barcelona or something?

Carlo's days are numbered.
If it's not after today's result, it'll be after United game.

Little point in changing him. The squad cutting is the problem, not the manager. It is in serious need of some fresh attacking players.

At the rate it's going, and with fixtures ahead, Chelsea will be behind Bolton when they host them on the 29th
Although I'm not ruling out the possibility of Super Frank coming on in the 2nd half and turning their season around. Spurs don't do clean sheets.

Yup. They have some promising kids, but they've changed too fast from team with 2 experienced players for every position and never playing kids, to a team who only have kids to turn to on the bench (slightly improving with Lampard back, but when him and Drogba start, it'll be Kalou and Ramires as the experienced options in reserve).
Spurs supposedly have a few injuries, but their bench is still very expensive and experienced. They have about 25 experienced pros, where Chelsea have maybe 16.

Big cock-up from Gomes, who couldn't deal with Drogba's fierce strike. Chelsea are level.

This game has massive gaps and defensive shitness all over the place. Amazing there's only been 2 goals really, and it is one you could genuinely see going either way now.
Essien just got booked for taking the ball past Modric

Amateurish! Gomes had little chance of stopping Drogba's rocket from point blank range. The media will most certainly blame the Johnny Foreigner.

Really? If he had stood completely still the ball wouldn't have gone in. It probably would have knocked him over, but it wouldn't have gone in. Gomes got too low, and crumpled under the shot. It was very fiercely hit, but if he had stood taller it was certainly saveable.

Penalty for Chelsea. Gomes has clattered into Ramires and it's an easy decision ('shit' Dawson is probably to blame for the goalkeeper conceding the foul).
