A win. Thank fuck. It wasn't particularly pretty, but were good in spells and the result was all-important, given who we have to play over Xmas. Conceding late goal v.annoying as clean sheet would've been a lovely boost (and it further shows we cannae stop conceding when it's coming up to ht/ft). Still it was all about getting some points on board. See if we can put in a performance at Wigan now.

Albrighton was key for the goals, Heskey had a good game, as did A.Young. Lichaj did pretty well coming in at RB too.

Btw, it's seeming reasonably credible that A.Young is off soon Sad If he doesn't sign new contract he'll be going in Jan/the summer. He's not been at his best this season, but I will be gutted. Carew, Warnock, Friedel, Davies, Sidwell will all be off soon too. Big changes afoot.

Skrtel is impressively poor in the air. Goal may have been marginally offside.

    Yep, offside. Albeit very minor.

edit - probably need to see it on MOTD. Stream quality in fairness is crap.

Also Kuyt is infuriating me greatly. He was crap on Monday, truly horrific.

Good result for the villa today. West Brom at home - a potential Odemwinghie-skin. And after Houllier's bizarre fellatio of Liverpool after just losing 3-0, I was worried for you Debbie.

What did you think of today's Football Focus at Villa Park? The bloke who asked Dublin if Savage was faking it when he nutted him - leg. end Laugh Oh, and the kid who suggested Spurs are title contenders Hug

I doubt many manager could have got results for Villa given their relatively thin squad+a hell of a lot of injuries recently. Just like Hodgson, Houllier is paying the price for the previous manager's failure in the transfer market.

We're not doing too badly lately actually Saints, Hodgson seems to be learning to be a bit more attacking. If he can get us top 5 and a real go at one of the cups he can leave next summer with a bit of pride restored after a shocking start <Ale>

See, as soon as you give the man some credit, the team starts fucking up again.
