I dissagree, Rosicky is the right type of player for a big game. Combatative and intellegent. We'll need it for the way Song has been playing this year.

Incapable of running a game though, which given his technique, he should be able to. A poorer player than the sum of his parts. Hopefully Wilshere will step up, but he's hasnt been at his best recently (stupid as it is to talk about his best - he's in his first season).
Is Denilson more capable of running a game? Rosicky keeps possession ticking and can provide killer passes. Wilshire will have to be the one that controls the game.

Yeah Wilshire hasn't played well in the last 2/3 games compared to the previous games but there's no way of judging his form considering his first season playing at this level. But he's got good aggression and skill so that should help carry him in the poor moments.

How can the ball travel that far and Rooney be allowed to bring it under control so easily? Decent start to the game. Arsenal look a bit jittery at the back and Man Utd are shading it, but Arsenal are picking the ball up in some good positions between the Man Utd defence and midfield. I can see Arsenal getting outnumbered at the back at times though.

We need to show a bit more discipline as well. Too many soft free-kicks conceded, and they are going to offer good chances for Man Utd as well as lead to bookings soon.

Incredibly poor clearance from Arsenal. Very, very close to the first goal from Nani. Arsenal are getting very sloppy here.

Could have been a penalty for Man Utd there. Chamakh completely misjudged a header and it hit his arm. It wasn't deliberate, and he had his arm by his side, but you see them given when the ball has travelled that far before hitting.

I have to agree with Glenn, that Chamakh is a massive queer!

    Lucky goal for Man Utd.

Arsenal deserve to be losing. This is a pathetic performance. Every time Wenger talks about showing what we can do in the big games we play like shit.

    1-0 HT

I would say Arsenal can't be any worse in the second half, but we all know that's a lie. Hopefully they might be about to put the occasional pass to another Arsenal player in the second period at least. Really, really shit performance. Man Utd haven't had to play well to be the better side.

Nah. They still got trips to Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, Blackpool, Birmingham, WBA, Arsenal. They ain't gonna get through all of them unbeaten, considering how shit they've been away from home all season.

Be surprised if they're still unbeaten by New Year.

Hlebagone: Wenger doesn't normally make decisions that early, so on after 70 minutes, and otherwise accurate.

Mentally and physically off the pace so far. Man Utd are first to every loose ball, Arsenal are that little bit too late in reacting every time (hence why there have been so many needless fouls). Our passing has been really poor and aimless, even with simple tasks like passing back to the goalkeeper we've made life difficult with underhit or poor passes. Defence doesn't look comfortable, and we haven't created so much as a half chance so far. A big improvement is needed.

Their tactics with the five in midfield makes sense and is reaping dividends, although in truth they would probably be enjoying as much success with Berbatov on the pitch. They've just been a better, more focussed, and harder working side.

Man Utd get a lucky break to put Anderson in on goal, but a very good save from Szczesny denies him.

Clichy's did excellent to get it back off Nani but then lost it again -sums up his good and bad traits in 5 seconds. Nani really should've finished it there. Really poor effort.

I'd do RVP and Fabregas for Wilshere and Arshavin. Then Walcott later if that has no impact.

edit: nearly right. Rosicky rather than Arshavin. Wenger keeps the faith this will be one of the 1 in 10 games where Arshavin does something great
