I am so happy that Inter got Alvarez rather than Lamela... not that I have seen much of either of them, but from video clips and new reports, I get a feeling that Alvarez is going to be a solid player, very Kaka-ish... while Lamela looks more flashy, Lavezzi-ish player who may turn out to be yet another mentally fragile argie starlet...

Looks like Inter are very serious about their focus on youth transfer policy... hope we don't go extreme & become the Arsenal of Italy...

Luc Castaignos has joined Inter... it is still not clear whether he will play for the primavera or not, he has been named among the 11 kids who willl train with the senior squad in pre-season... surely he will get some opportunities to play with the senior squad this season...

He is a part of Inter's new youth experiment. The idea is to find 3-4 youngsters who can play for the senior team in the next 2-3 years. That is the reason Inter have been scouting for talented kids over the last 12 months....

Berlusconi has to pay a €560m fine which will affect Milan's transfer budget.

I guess all they are looking for (after Mexes & Taiwo) is a Pirlo replacement... push comes to shove, they will sell the surplus Casano to raise funds for this transfer.

    Nagatomo, Viviano, Alvarez, Castaignos, Jonathan

Inter's transfer strategy is becoming very clear... talented, younger players. A shift from the past when we targeted established (often old) stars at the top of their game, or sometimes even past it.

This may mean that in the shorter term we may not be as competitive, but assures decent succession when some of our top stars start fading... whilst also keep an eye on the upcoming FFP rules. I am happy with Branca's work so far... we just need a talented (preferably youngish) CB and a top creative striker/winger to complete the picture. Maybe Bocchetti or some lessor known argie/brasilian CB? As for the top creative attacker, looks like Sanchez is very unlikely. But we need someone like that if we are going to play 433 or 343. Just Alvarez is not enough. And IMO Palacios is not good enough. We need a top guy, this is where we need to spend.

Inter could also do with a top manager. Although I don't suppose it will be too long until they have another new one.

I know, I don't share Abundance's optimism on Gasperini... don't think he will be able to manage the ego's that well, and has no experience of CL. I have a feeling Moratti has someone in mind in the summer of 2012 - a few top managers will be free then...

That said, Gasp is an improvement on Leo, and definately better than some of the other alternatives that were being mentioned (Miha, Ranieri, Zenga).
