something Anderson does well, which no one else in the United team does apart from Scholes is to move the ball on quickly.

I can't comment on Anderson's tackling, but it wouldn't be difficult for him to be an improvement to Scholes.

In all other areas I have seen nothing to suggest that he will even begin to emulate a poor man's Scholes, as much as United fans wish he will.

Nani is a shambles. I don't know what he's for. I wont write him off just yet but so far neither him or Anderson look like justifying the £35m spunked out on them.

It's funny with Anderson, I think Man Utd fans were expecting a new Ronaldinho, what they have in fact got is Edgar Davids.

Nani is having 2nd SS - he'll be a big star soon enough.

    Shouldn't that be 1st and 2nd SS.

Has Nani created a new disease or are you missing the obvious rabbit

if Nani is the new Luis Figo then Park Ji Sung must be the new Johann Cruyff, Fletcher is the new Viera, O'Shea is the new Beckenbauer and Rafael is the new Cafu.

Anderson is talented. But it only takes that ugly wanker Fergie to make a super-talented attacking player to forget his skills in the final third. Apart from this, he's solid in the middle, and his mobility will take him places. Perhaps in Edgar Davids mold, and nothing more...

Damm, it's actually a perfect comparison. That is probably why I like and rate him so much. But he eventually will need to improve his long range shout though...

What does it mean this 2nd SS? 2nd season syndrome?

His finishing was poor, but from what I remember he had a qoute powerful shot in his left foot from long/mid range. If I am wrong, there's a dozens of Oranje fans who can correct me...

As for Nani, he still shows enough flashes of talent to make you believe he can turn into a very good player. Great shot, good cross with either foot. He just needs to be much more consistent and stop being petulant as well.

He's definitely missing Ronaldo's speed also.

when United inevitably lose Ronaldo, Giggs, Scholes, Van der Saar, Neville and of course Fergle, and you have £100m to spend rejuvenating the squad, do you seriously see Anderson and Nani as integral first team players or do you see them having a similar relevance as Fletcher or a Park Ji Sung, important but not particularly vital?

    Look in your heart people.

who are you? our Portugease correspondent?

He plays more like a Mascherano, as much as a Brazillian can play like a Mascherano. He's technically good and I can see why Fergle thought he could be a replacement for Scholes, a player who favours the old fashioned give and go is important in a squad of players who fancy the Hollywood ball.

But Anderson doesn't seem to have Scholes' footballing brain, his timing or his vision, so whatever use he is, he is basically Tescos Finest Darren Fletcher.

Both Nani and Anderson are world beaters capable of running a game on their own. It will just take a little more time before they do it on a consistent basis.
