Yeah, they are going to ask for a big transfer fee for the young ladchrissicross wrote:At Milan it could be easily 7 more seasons for him...bluenine wrote:Interesting buy, if nothing else, he has a season or two left in him. No numbers were disclosed and I haven't seen anything as to who that defensive midfielder might be. I'm sure the deal for the latter is almost in place, otherwise Uli wouldn't have said anything.

I just noticed that after half a Silver you're according to MOPO also just buying half a Neves for 8m Euro.
I guess that means that I only have to wear half a Didi avatar then...
Well, other articles stated that we're buying 80% of Neves.
We'll see...
During the press conference a few minutes ago Martin Jol said that he already wanted to sign Jansen for Tottenham two years ago. So, we definitely know what we're doing there. Good to hear.

But he's gonna play 100% for us so...
And it'll be a contract compared to vdV's one, if HSV are gonna sell him again they will only keep 80% of the transfer fee.

Thiago Neves will choose between Hamburg and Atletico. According to his agent the decision is up to him.

Agree with Effe, Bayern offloading Janssen makes sense. Dutch name & defends like a Dutchie: not good enough. 8M for his lauffreudigkeit is good business & will hardly strengthen HSV.
What about using the money to get a left fullback so Lahm can move to the right?

But at Hamburg he'll have a more tranquil environment, arguably a better coach, and first team football. Atletico have just signed Banega so I dont know if they are still seriously interested.

we clearly need another midfielder, and the club allows someone like neves to sign for Hamburg for little or nothing.

Thiago Neves saga is not over yet. He wants to move to Madrid, but Hamburg made a better offer to FLuminense and the investors. Flu also offered a new contract.

I´ve just heard about it. I don´t really know this player, but I know there were other clubs behind him. Apparently he has done well in Heerenveen.

Great to have him in the league, I'm really curious to see how good he actually is.
He was linked with us for quite a while, might have been an option, if we hadn't managed to sign Neves.

He's a CAM, has good composure in front of goal and distributes fairly well. He's a bit flimsy though, so he has issues against larger players. Gerrard and Hargreaves muscled him off the ball countless times when he played in the USA vs England match.

Great signing. I'm sure Hamburg fans will quickly forget about VdV.
I agree with Guzman (least I think it was Guzman) when he say's that the Bundesliga is probably the most healthy of any of the leagues atm. With huge crowds, attacking football, and well run clubs, I can only see the league going from strength to strength.

Could anyone post signings done by HSV in recent years? It looks like they were able to get some quality players and get them cheap, how they are doing it? How much would have to pay MCity or Atletico, if they would be able to get Neves for themselves?

In addition to stinger's question, what of Macauley Chrisantus? He won the U19 or U17 WC Golden Boot a year or two ago, but doesn't seemed to have featured at all for Hamburg?
