I don't like it that Calderon talks so much about other team's players, but Ferguson is a sneaky little weasle himself. Not sure about that one but I wouldn't be surprised. All big clubs tap up players, it's just the way it is. Let's not forget that we've suffered from that too when Chelsea tapped up Makalele for example. I'm sure ManU do it often themselves, so Ferguson should save his drunken rants.

Also, I think that Ferguson flipping out like that is a positive sign for Ronaldo signing for us. If he was actually confident about keeping him, he wouldn't get so worked up about the things that are printed in Marca ffs!

If you actually watched the interview instead of reading it in print, you'd know he wasn't flipping out at all. He was laughing.

Plus we never tapped up Hargreaves, we made a bid the previous season, he wanted to leave and spoke of wanting to leave but Bayern said no. We repsected that and Fergie hardly spoke about him except after the bid was made saying we'd love to have the player but Bayern have refused the offer. Nothing like Real Madrid have done.

I saw the interview in the news, or at least one of them. He didn't look like he was laughing to me.

And Ferguson isn't just insulting Calderon, he's insulting the entire club. For somebody who's been proven to personally tap up players, it's also hpocritical for him to cry about insettling players with the media, when his method is actually a lot worse, not to mention illegal.

I think people need to look at their own clubs before just criticising others. No one is as bad as Madrid, but nearly every top club engages in dubious or unethical transfer approaches for players. Arsenal are pretty good when it comes to signing senior players, but obviously it's very questionable the way we sign young players. Other clubs are worse when it comes to signing senior players. You act as if Barcelona are completely clean, but plenty of clubs have to put up with your club unsettling players through the media or through your players going on a 'charm offensive'. And that is pretty damn annoying. Few go to the ridiculous lengths of Real Madrid who are disgraceful at times, but all clubs are hypocritical about this sort of thing and nearly all engage in some sort of dubious activities to some extent.

I am not saying that we are completely clean.. not by any measure. We are averagely "dirty".

I am just mentioning Arsenal because you are the kings of kiddie-poaching and AC Milan because they never stop talking about other clubs' players and hw they would looooooove to sign them.

Fair enough. As I said, I don't particularly like our approach at times. It's just annoying me to read these topics and see people acting morally outraged about how clubs act around their players yet not seeming to appreciate that their own clubs do much the same. Thankfully no clubs stoop as low as Real Madrid, but virtually every top club does what it can get away with, whether that's poaching youngster, unsettling through the media, tapping up players or riding roughshod over small clubs just because they can get away with it.

You'll hardly ever hear coaches or management mention oter clubs' players except in very general terms. Nobody from the club has ever said we wanted to sign Hleb or Adebayor, and Cesc has only been commented on as a great player, but that made a choice to leave the club. Very very different from what you hear from RM or AC Milan.

However, Barcelona is infamous for using Mundo deportivo as a sounding board for transfers.. And of course, like all other clubs, we meet with players' agents to get an idea of the possibilites of signing them.

Apparently Ronaldo was asked about this again at the Portuguese training camp by two Portuguese journalists...he responded saying "it is my dream to play for Real Madrid"
