It would be something if both IC and Portugal manage to win with more than two goals from NK and draw Brasil....
However, I doubt that both to win from NK rather than that they both draw Brasil...

Robinho didn't work out at two teams and Kaka has been useless for awhile yet these are Brazil's best attacking players. Maicon is probably the third and he is RB. Brazil would still beat Spain or Holland.
he is working now though...
He's not really one of the great players of the world
No, he is far away from being as good as Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, etc, but tell me how many offensive players did better than him so far?
Perhaps only Messi, Podolski and Ozil...
Robinho was good tonight. Let's see how he will perform against better teams.
Well i know he usually plays well for Brazil. But the fact is people were talking about Dunga. But if you look at the Brazil team the players are simply not great. The best two attacking ones are hit and miss most of the time one couldnt even work out at a relative small club. I think brazil will go far and the team is good but the critism of Dunga is shortsighted.
Robinho mostly is very good against bad teams and gets a little invisible against good ones anyway. I thought Park also was very good. Ronaldo did alright his team is shit. Missed Tevez match. Rooney was terrible but he'll improve.
what do you mean? people are criticising him here exactly because he didn't call pato, ganso, neymar... instead he took julio baptista, grafiti, nilmar...
I think this is what scared me the most yesterday, we dont have options. If Kaka doesnt get his better form, who do we use Julio Baptista? Kleberson? if Luis Fabiano doesnt score lots of goals who is his substitute? Grafitti?
It gave a lot of envy from Germany, they at least gave their young players a chance. I wont bash Dunga tatics or team selection, but I really wish we had more options in our bench.
Even the Santos kids, I still dont understand why not take any of them, they already play with Robinho so you know that it works quite well. They have been playing well together for the past 5 months.
Serious, is Pato that bad at Milan?

it was abviously a shot, judging by the power of the shot and his movement (both his feet get high in the air). I never saw anyone cross with such power and leaving both feet in the air.

The Nani conspiracy theories:
1] He failed a drug test in Portugal, and the day before a surprise drug test in South Africa got send home
2] Had some handbags with another Portuguese player in SA (poisoning tongues say Simao, but some other voices whisper the Nike Kid)
3] Did not french kiss CQ after sodomizing him
4] Injury in the clavicle. Does not stop him from crying is own bags on arrival at Lisbon, or driving his own sports car, but surely does stop him from kicking a football

He's got a South Korean passport (his father's family are from the South, his mother's from North) so that shouldn't be a problem. I dunno what the real story about his choosing to play for North is - he says he's always been for that side and from what you read about him in the Japanese press it looks like his mother's side of the family (the granny especially) are much the more influential. So far as I know he's not been called up by the South team so wanting to play international football would have had a part but I'm sure there would have been some tacit agreement from the South to let the North have this PR coup.

Yeah, four NK players have apparently defected. Last time Cuba played in the US about half the team defected
Fifa has insisted it has no information on reports that four North Korea players have gone missing.
There have been suggestions that the players may have tried to defect after the official teamsheet for North Korea's 2-1 defeat by Brazil on Tuesday listed the players Kim Myong-won, An Chol-hyok, Kim Kyong-il and Pak Sung-hyok as absent.
Fifa communications director Nicolas Maingot told a media briefing: "We have no information on this - we have only been contacted on this issue by the media. Our media officer with the Korea DPR who has spoken to their delegation completely deny these rumours."

Cuban Soccer Players Defect to US
- Spoiler:
As many as seven members of a Cuban national soccer team are reported to have defected in the United States shortly after playing a match in the U.S. state of Florida.
Five of the players said they abandoned their team at a hotel in Tampa Tuesday night and plan to seek political asylum in the United States. The coach and teammates from Cuba's under-23 team said the five disappeared shortly after playing a qualification match for the upcoming summer Olympics in Beijing.
The Miami Herald online publication has reported two more Cuban players defected Wednesday, bringing the total to seven. The paper says its information comes from sources close to the players.
The five players who deserted the squad Tuesday, told U.S. media they hope to establish themselves in the country and play professional soccer. A local team, Miami FC, said they will try out for it.
Groups such as the Cuban American National Foundation in Miami often seek to help Cuban performers and doctors to defect while they are on missions outside the country.
The group's human rights director, Omar Lopez Montenegro, says they reached out to the Cuban soccer team during the trip but have not contacted the five.
He said many take the decision to defect to expand the opportunities for their career and their families.
"When you are an athlete or a performer in Cuba, you are kind of a slave to the Cuban government. For example, athletes cannot negotiate their [own] contracts," he said.
Last December, a group of Cuban ballet dancers defected during a trip to Mexico, and a top Cuban television personality sought asylum after a visit to Canada. All of them are now pursuing their careers in Miami.
U.S. law allows for Cuban immigrants who arrive on U.S. soil to apply for residency after living in the country for one year.

Hmm...if it's true it's certainly quite brave of them. The state would have made sure their families back home are de facto hostages during their absence and would certainly end up in camps if not worse.

Sounds like some journalists were getting ahead of themselves with this:
Four North Korea players reported missing following their side's defeat against Brazil have turned up for training today.
There had been rumours that Kim Myong-won, An Chol-hyok, Kim Kyong-il and Pak Sung-hyok may have tried to defect after their names were listed as absent on the teamsheet for the 2-1 defeat to the Brazilians.
FIFA communications director Nicolas Maingot had earlier told a media briefing: "We have no information on this - we have only been contacted on this issue by the media.
"Our media officer with the Korea DPR who has spoken to their delegation completely deny these rumours."
But the players were with the rest of the squad for training earlier on Friday.

WTF...Brazilian FA is afraid of Drogba. They are saying that Drogba playing with the arm protection put the integrity of their players at risk. Fifa will have the final say. I really hope he plays.
Edit: Brazilians are not afraid of getting hurt, they are afraid of losing the match.

Let's see if CQ was right and the rules change again...
BTW, i still think it is better if he plays as his team attacks more when he plays, also exposing themselves more.

You're hardly likely to come into contact with a face mask. But going shoulder to shoulder with someone wearing a cast is much more likely...in fact, inevitable...so there's a potential for players getting hurt I guess.

Demichelis a central defender (in name anyway) wearing a face mask when heading is just as likely to hurt players. For that matter its not made of metal and is no different then an elbow anyway.

True, maybe that's why FIFA allowed Drogba's cast? Not sure really, I was just guessing at the most likely explanation. Perhaps the material of a cast is harder than the plastic of a face mask.

I don't think they are afraid, they just think Ivory Coast would be easier to beat without Drogba. I agree and I think CBF should do everything to prevent him from playing. If it's forbidden, then good riddance.

That's what exactly whant I meant. They don't think that his protection may hurt someone, they just think that it will be easier to win without Drogba on the pitch. Cowards.
The referee will decide if he will play or not.
