Is Lennon REALLY just a pace merchant with no end product?

I'm surprised you're bumping this TS, i though i'd be the one to do it.

Anyway i haven't seen any posts which say that he is just a pace merchant.

It sounds like he'll have to prove everyone wrong again.

I've given my piece on Lennon's performance today, he was good and it was enough to give him the RW spot for the next game. But we have to remember than he was given a ton of space on the right and he was up against a slow CM out of position, then a winger. Everything was set up for a good display. There will be tougher tests for sure.

The very 1st time he recieved the ball, the Croats doubled up on him. He only got the space when they ran out of gas/heart.

Well that's simply not true, they didn't double up on him the first time he got the ball, or for the penalty, in the first half especially he was left one on one time and time again.

even if Kimbo REALLY did call Lennon a pace merchant with no end product, he hasn't said so recently, Lennon isn't the same player he was 4 years ago.

He will the rate he is going i dont think he will be able to ignore him. The lad is fearless and has amazing confidence in his ability, he showed it on his prem debut, playing in the nou camp and now for his national side. He is so quick, has brilliant skill and amazing potential.

Don't worry Kimbo: in actual fact, and with all the positive press he's recieved this will sound controversial,

but Lennon wasn't even THAT good last night.

I've seen him play better on a number of occasions for Spurs.

Obviously not in such a big game, but then he is that kind of player that can raise expectations unbearably high.

No told you so's from me - he is still capable of becoming the next right wing scapegoat for the England team, so best to keep my mouth shut until he's proved himself internationally over a sustained period of time.

Clearly better than N Zogbia though

He's in better form than N'Zogbia i would agree with that, and he's playing a far better team which helps. N'Zogbia hasn't started the season too badly and has got a couple of assists, but at Wigan i wonder how long it will take before he kicks off and acts like a big shot again. I've said for a long time his attitude would hold him back. Hopefully Martinez will get the best out of him.


I have to say the way i'm mentioned whenever Lennon does something good is pretty odd, you don't see me shoving Wayne Routeledge down TS's throat all the time. Oh aren't you good at spotting talent.

I didn't start it Paddy, and i was justified in my outrage. It seems Solano, just like a number of Newcastle players i could name, is criminally underrated by you commoners.

Even in the stereotype hierarchy i think 'Geordie' ranks above 'tarmac licking Pikey'.


I think i'm well within my rights to point out when people are saying dumb things about a Newcastle player. I shouldn't stay quiet out of fear of being called biased.
