Portsmouth had some really class players, and a manager who has been there and done it, watford have the worst team really, and are way off being safe, it just aint happening.

If only they hadn't lost King. If they didn't I'm confident they would avoid the drop in the first place and perhaps even go to 12th or something like that.

A shame really, since none of the newer teams play as negative or shite as Sunderland last year. Watford and Reading play exciting football (bar last week Razz ) yet Reading has end product and Watford have to really on goals from midfield and the odd set piece.
It would be cruel if the more negative playing of the three (Sheffield U) would stay up instead of Watford. But that's football for you.

    Yes. Embarassed

But everyone had Portsmouth written off. Just remembered that Sunderland were bottom of the League for nearly the whole campaign.

I'll just point out that £20m for Diouf, Diao, Cheyrou etc was the reason that Houllier was fired.

£20m for Alonso+Crouch looks money better spent. Wink

    EDIT

Because he'll get some funds to play with in January. Watford desperately need a goalscorer, and possibly a DMF.

    They already have:

*An excellent young goalkeeper (abeilt on loan)

*A Solid defence - Demerit is very good, as is Shittu.

*In Ashley Young they have a good creative spark.

*Damien Francis is capable of being productive from Midfield (he proved that with Norwich).
    -----------------------------------

A couple of players of real quality in the right areas, coupled with their team-spirit and Boothroyd's astuteness, and they can still survive.

They've only lost by more than one goal at The Emirates & Stamford Bridge.
