This talk of any team winning the title with Ronaldo in it seems very questionable.

Ronaldo is a great player in a team where the attack have been playing with each other now for a number of years.

Rooney and Ronaldo have virtually grown up together playing for Man United, and you can tell. How many one-two goals have those two scored or created for each other? It would be interesting to know.

Throw in Tevez, who is a genuine class act and United have 3 players, along with Giggs, who can play virtually anywhere up front - on the left, right or centre.

Its that fluidity which allows Ronaldo to come inside and score so many.

If he were at a team with less genuine ability upfront, he'd be told to stick on the right and creat goals, because there would be no one else in the team who could float out to the right when he takes those central positions.

Ronaldo would be stupid to move anywhere right now in my opinion. United's formation suits him perfectly at the moment, and so do the players he is with.

Under such conditions- yues, best in the World at the moment.

And we can all ignore Puro's 1,000th attempt to disregard the EPL - Milan took United apart last season, but United did the same to Roma before that, so how that one game is supposed to represent which league is better is of course utter gonads.

Ronaldo is also maturing each year, and so are United's young attack, so it seems fair to say he will only get better so no point harping on about the odd poor performance in the past.

Still hate his free kicks though - its not a suprise he scores the odd one seeing as he takes them all, and almost always shoots no matter where on the pitch it is. Plus he takes all the pens, so the stats should be tempered slightly

Well right now is non brainer, Ronaldo is by FAR the best player in the world, he wins games all by himself, without him no way United would be in the top of the league, he is fast, strong and right now is just great to watch.

Kaka is just a shadow in Milan (needs desperately some rest), Messi is coming back AGAIN from a injury (his fragile physic will be a obstacle in his career), Fabregas's form slipped , Henry was never the same, Robinho is not in the same league as Ronaldo and Kaka, so who else?

I just help to God that this form doesn’t continue for too long, I mean it cant right? pale

Yet you was praising Gerrard's goalscoring and he's come from penalties and free kicks just as much if not more.

God himself wont stop him, In fact God just praised him recently I posted it somewhere on here.

    From the Guardian:

"Another two goals, another match-winning performance, another team brutally dispatched by the player with gelled hair, tangerine boots and magic in his feet. The eulogies are beginning to sound repetitive, but nobody at Manchester United will mind while Cristiano Ronaldo is bewitching Old Trafford and seeing off all contenders to be known as the most devastating player in the Premier League."

Is there any alternative to the best player in the world?

Messi spends more time on the physio's bench than the pitch, Kaka hasn't done much, Ronaldinho we all know, Cesc has slowly faded away.

Closest competitor would be Zlatan, whos got 13 goals in the Serie A, and the top scorer in the CL with 5.

Robinho's played for Real with 11 goals in all competitions, but needs to be more consitent to get recognition.

One stat that should be looked at in CR's case is the number of assists after all he is a winger (apparently), but as far as a attacking midfielder goes he banging in the goals.

Overall CR is the best player right now, with Zlatan behind him, and after its unclear. But theres still half a season to go and anything can happen.

Come on Henry, RvN, Dinho....almost everybody got these added to their stats. And in most teams there is a constant free kick taker and he takes nearly all free kicks. No different here, you have to be a good free kick taker, and quite clearly hes proving that he is name me someone else who has scored 4 free kicks this season? And with the penalties the difference with Ronaldo is he wins 90% of them himself anyway. Plus this season he let Saha score 2 of them, you wouldn't see RVN doing that!

I'm of the opinion that Saha is the designated penalty taker for Man Utd. It's just that he spends so little time on the pitch that it's Ronaldo who ends up taking them.

The reason I dislike Ronaldo's free kicks is because, like Roberto Carlos before him, there is f*ck all variation to them. Everytime he steps up to take a free kick, you know he's going to put his foot through it and shoot.

Not like Beckham for example, who would mix shooting with chipped balls into the box with left and right curlers etc. for example.

And it strikes me that no one ever seems to be given the chance to take them for United, when United have a plethora of good free kick takers - Hargy, Rooney (Besiktas free kick was a beauty, and when was the last time he took one since?), Giggs for starters. Explain that to me hey?

But on the other hand there's no shame in not playing well against the best defence in Europe in a game where your entire team underperformed.

C Ronaldo the best player in the world? - Page 3 Empty Re: C Ronaldo the best player in the world?

Right now Ronaldo is the best player in the world but we will have to wait to see how he is going to perform in the UCL knockout stages. He was OK last season, but Kaká was brilliant and decisive against Celtic, Bayern, Utd and Liverpool. He completely overshadowed Ronaldo in the semi-final. If someone overshadows Ronaldo again in the UCL and guide his team to title, probably he will not win the Golden Ball.

Zlatan is having an excellent season as well, he is the best player and the top scorer of the italian league. Inter have lost just one game this season. IMO Ronaldo have more talented teammates upfront, but at this moment Man Utd face tougher opposition to win the EPL than Inter to win the Scudetto.

He probably will end up winning world player of the year, but we shouldn't forget that this season neither he, Rooney nor Tevez track back as they normally would in a 4-4-2.
